You will both qualify for funds from the emergency flood funds, we are arranging the Army and airforce to deploy to your respective areas, so fear not, help is on its way!!! we at NSC are praying for your safety, we hope you get over this disaster as soon as possible.......

Can you send help for me, too?

As I mentioned, my clematis won't stand up on its own any more and my fence is flapping. I've also had a (brand new) plant pot smashed and the wheelie bin at work keeps falling over. I must be some sort of special case, surely?

Most worrying, though, is that I haven't seen one of our cats yet today.

Looks like being tricky along the prom for tomorrow's Brighton Half Marathon. I shall be marshalling at the safety of the finish line. That's if there still is a finish line...............

Where do they turn? The beach road to Carats cafe is littered with shingle, flotsam and jetsam, twisted ankle heaven

Just been down there to check our our beach hut. Ours is ok but quite a few others weren't as lucky!

Turn at the lagoon I believe. The sweepers have already been along the prom this morning and cleared a pretty wide section for the race.

Assume they are on standby to do it again early tomorrow if things kick off again tonight. Race starts at 0900.

That is pretty bonkers.
been talking about this today and risking a flaming but this could bump the economy along quite nicely.....i am obviously not referring to this specific pile of flint but to the clean up work in general....it will be really interesting to see how this is managed ........anyone looking for a job would be able to get one , for a few months at least.......(should i duck now)

I think you are right. It would imagine companies are vying for the contract as we type.

at least there has not been major loss of life .....i have friends down devon /cornwall way and it , apparently is ferking WILD down there......looks like the government are going to have to have a major re-think on how they prioritise the budget over the coming years.

Indeed. We've had lots of car prangs and cycling accidents here in The Thames Valley but mainly it's flooded out property. They even shut Tesco would you credit! Apparently their sewerage went turbo and flooded the aisles with piss and half digested pies.

Some parts of the park near me, honestly if you didn't know the area you would think it was just a lake. The only thing that gives it away is the half submerged goal posts sticking out of the water. It's pretty water logged round my way, luckily I'm a ten min walk from any of the rivers around here and on the second storey so at no risk but some places are effed.

I have a twig and several unwanted leaves that have appeared on my driveway. I feel sure these are a potential risk to both life and limb. Is there any chance you can ask your Army / Airforce contacts to pop over and sort my CARNAGE out too?

Thanks in anticipation ....
