These days there is no difference in what term is used - and you know as well as I do that there were plenty of reports that Hughton didn't pick the players that were signed. It is worth nothing that you say Bloom stated numerous times that Hughton had the final say - why did Bloom have to repeatedly say it? having 'the final say' is - 'we have agreed a fee - do you want this guy?' - if Hughton kept saying no he wouldn't have been able to put a team on the pitch. Much better to ask the manager which players should be targeted for transfer and go after those.

There are plenty of quotes out there where it's stated Hughton worked with the recruitment team that were in place and had the final say on all players. You're good at Google. Go find your own evidence if you're that bothered. It was also discussed on Albion fan podcasts such as Albion Roar with the relevant players (inlcuding at varying times Barber, Bloom and the recruitment team) but as you're not an Albion fan you won't have listened in.

Nevertheless you've ignored my second paragraph completely. Either Hughton gets credit for getting in Kayal for around 300k (our best player when we stayed up initially), getting Knockaert for around 2 million and bringing in players of PL quality (in the Championship) e.g. Murray and Duffy AND takes responsibility for our so called below quality squad, or you credit our recruitment team on their own with those deals that got us out of the Championship. You can't have it both ways but, with your agenda and narrative, you will.

Also - GB - a word of caution - be extremely careful about declaring what is and is not 'absolute FACT' - there are only two absolute FACTS in todays world - death and taxes.

I think Sir Philip Green and Jeff Bezos might not agree about the taxes part. But the first part is nonsense. A person's job title is a person's job title and it's a fact. Boris Johnson is Prime Miinister. FACT. Pritti Patel is Home Secretary. FACT. You are an annoying bellend with too much time on your hands. FACT.

I haven’t seen any of these reports that CH did not pick the players that were signed when he was manager. Got any links to reputable reports and are you really calling Bloom out as a liar?

If I was a mod I’d ban you on the strength of that comment right now

Why is it that every time I see a post by JRG this springs to mind.

As many have said, CH is a hugely popular figure in football, and rightly so. So it was an easy target for many pundits to say "oh he kept you up and was sacked, what a DISGRACE (with added spurious racist undertones in cases)".

But (and I know this has been pointed out but bares repeating) MANY of the very same pundits were previously pointing out how the football we were playing was AWFUL, and how we were very lucky to survive having stunk out the division in the second half of the season.

Having your cake and eating it. So yeah, I agree with the OP. The cake they are eating now should be a large slice of HUMBLE pie.

Everybody has biases -

You'll excuse me for removing the deflection and whataboutism from your post that selectively quoted what I asked of you, without in any way addressing the point that I'm sure you know I was raising. It hasn't left much.

Let's try this one last time. Two simple questions

1) Do you support Brighton?
2) If the answer to (1) is no, why should any of us care about what you have to say about our football team?

I know you won't give a direct an honest answer. I'm just raising it once again to allow us all to see you ignore it once again.

I think the answer to your question may lie in the fact that Jolly Red Google joined NSC at around the same time Hughton was appointed manager but I am afraid that pointing that out may result in my ending up on the same list as Simster

I don't mind if I end up on his list as the only thing he'll ever be in charge of is bringing the bins in.

But (and it's taken a while) he's going on my HWT style "IGNORE" list.

Takes a lot as there's only him on it. Just ENOUGH for God's sake! :ffsparr:

He’s one seriously tedious bigot.

Binned him off a few months ago.

Every manager at a newly promoted club to the Premier league has the same task, including teams already established, but are a bottom half team is to avoid relegation.
C H did a brilliant job in doing that in our first season, Up to Christmas last season we were looking good for a top half finish. Something happened and we started to go on a bad run. That happens, but what I do not understand what our tactics were at the end of the season. 5 of our last six home games were against sides around us, all fighting for relegation, out of those games we managed 4 points, beating Huddersfield in a dour game 1 nil and a 1 all draw against Newcastle. We lost to Southampton with 2 shots in the whole game, Bournemouth 5 nil, 1 shot on goal, remember Bournemouth were on a long winless streak.Cardiff 2 nil, 2 shots on goal. Newcastle drew 1 all, 2 shots on goal. Thankfully Palace beat Cardiff to secure our survival.

After the Cardiff game I spoke to two players who told me the instructions were do not concede and that is what they done in training, I was also informed that some of the forwards were not happy as there was little attacking training I believe that this was also reported in the media.during this period we played Wolves. 32% possession no shots, I remember we were then named as an anti football side by many in the media. We also played Spurs, 22% procession defended for our lives, even the Spurs fans turned against C H.
The day after Palace secured our place in the Premier for another season we played Arsenal and got a deserved draw, mainly because we attacked them. Many a manager would have been sacked before these games. We were capable of some good attacking play.
T B and the rest of the board don't want us to be a yoyo club, or one that has little ambition to push on. Unfortunately I think that is where C H has his limitation. What is telling is a year after losing his job with us, he has not taken another managers job. Maybe they see him as the man to take clubs up to the Premier league but that is that.

Cardiff - I think our first shot on target was in the 90th minute.
Bmuff - came to the Amex with a record of 11 losses from their last 12 away games, the week before they lost at home to Burnley.

Asked and answered on numerous occasions - and I am not doing it again - you are more than welcome to run a search. And by the way - I am direct and honest - in every comment I post.

Since the off I have been accused of being a supporter of another club (something like 50 of them at this stage) - with zero evidence other than I happen to have a different opinion on some topics to some other people on here (and apparently because I have the word 'red' in my username). For some reason or other, some people thing it is perfectly fine to hurl abuse and engage in name-calling etc because I happen to disagree with them. Doesn't bother me - I have a pretty thick skin - but I do not entertain those kind of antics. Since I joined the forum I have done my best to treat everyone on this forum with respect and it is reasonable to suggest that my opinions should be treated in the same fashion without my motivations being questioned every time I express a contrary point of view - but that is clearly a little too much to expect from some people on here.

And to prove the point -

So you are direct and honest in every comment, but will not answer a yes-no question for reasons you won't explain.

Without a search I seem to remember that the previous coded answers were something like 'I don't support Brighton, but am interested in commenting about them. I know more than any of you about Brighton, because I watch all the games on the telly, but I can't possibly say who I really support because people will make assumptions about me on the strength of knowing something that no other poster has ever felt necessary to hide when posting on this board' A claim built on sand, if you consider how many supporters of other clubs have become valued posters over the years.

So let's ask the question one last time:

Mr Howard, Did you threaten to overrule him?

Sorry my mistake, I got myself confused with someone so obviously refusing to give a straight answer to a question, that it left absolutely no doubt of the true answer and the reasons for it not being given. This is a completely different scenario, because you are, of course, both direct and honest in all of your comments. I meant to ask - Do you support Brighton?

Once again - another false statement.
Please stop the bullshit and obfuscation.

It's obvious what and who you are and, unfortunately, our higher profile in recent years has attracted a few of you. You do not support Brighton but an element of things that were once connected with us.

In this you are no different to the Iranian Jahanbakhsh fanboys who claimed to support our team until we put a Pride logo up on club social media and dropped their darling into the reserves. Now all they do is send angry face emojis over Insta each time a team is announced without him in it, to the annoyance of our younger male fanbase who call them c***s in return. Their agenda is that they are Iranian patriots whose pride is hurt because their best national player is failing in the best league in the world.

You are no different to Swansman, who registered on here with a Swansea nickname, which at least he's kept. He's a self confessed Potter fan, due to Potter's time in Sweden and his love of tactics and football writing. He soiled the litter tray a couple of times early on but makes useful contributions as well and at least does not pretend to be anything he's not. However, when all is said and done he is Potter first and Brighton second, due to the Swedish connection and hipster football interest.

You are interested in left wing politics and Irishness and are a Hughton shill because of it. You joined here six months after Hughton arrived and hang around now only to tell people how wrong they are, usually by deflecting, whatabouting, coming up with spurious links via Google, boring the pants off people with TL;DR fifty paragraph rants and referring to "stories in the Irish press" that no one on here has read and, for all we know, you wrote yourself. Your agenda is Irishness, socialism and Hughton. End of.

And you're starting to mack off 90% of the board so I suggest you start to display the honesty you demand from others.
