Think we need to be careful. Iwelumo and big mac have both been donkeys and not good enough for us but scored goals since moving on. We need a player like bas savage so give him time I personally thought he did ok.

i thought iwelumo was quite good

like i said, he worked his arse off, but you can see why he's only scored TWO goals in his career

Oh dear.
If Savage is the answer to our goalscoring problems, then I'm not quite sure I understood the quesion. He looks woeful, and I'm frankly amazed that anyone could think any different.

Touch: Awful
Aerial power: Weak
Holding up play: Non-existant
Goalscoring instincts: See above

For a big lump, he doesn't even have the saving grace of putting himself about a bit. And can anyone explain to me why, when we had a free kick on the edge of their box in the 2nd half, did Savage choose to stand behind the Rotherham wall, hands on hips, motionless, about 12 yards away from the ball ? Could someone (perhaps during the course of this week) please take him gently by the hand and show him where the FAR f***ing POST is ? Not much to ask.

He lived down to my expectations in every conceivable way, and makes Gatting look like van Basten. Unless he improves about 244%, I don't want to see him again.

Passing: Think I only saw one completed pass.

Touch: Saw him successfully receive, make a run and pass about three times.

We appeared to play a bit of route one to him, dunno if this helped him or not.

Hilarious, yes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a "comedy cult signing" for us to all have a point and a laugh at. But lets get a few more points in the bag and meander our way to mid-table mediocrity first, as we're still very much in "looking over shoulder" mode at the moment.

Well I thought he was ponderous, tentative, and for a bloke his size he won practically nothing in the air. So I'm struggling to see quite what he brings to the table.

To be fair though, he's been training with our players for 2 days at the most, so let's give him some time to get used to the way we play and attempt to work with that before we totally write him off.

On a seperate note, I thought Bertin looked pretty useful in the time he had.

Well, he surely can't get any worse I suppose. But his goalscoring record is certainly no mystery, is it.

I'm not sure what any of the new signings are going to bring to the party. Lily Savage is no better than Gatting. Ward is no better than Tommy Fraser. O'Gooner did nothing that Gary Hart couldn't do and the Frenchy looked no better than El- Abd. We needed to sign some class instead all we have is other people's cast offs
