Immense Hookie/Morris rhythm section, musical nectar to me.

And then Royal Blood came along with Mike Kerr wringing sounds out of his bass guitar I just didn't think were possible! (song begins at 1.56)
Always loved that.
I remember seeing an interview with Black Sabbath and Tommi saying how Geezer Butler was originally a rhythm guitarist, but Tommi insisting that they only needed one guitarist, so he took up bass and ended up playing the bass like a lead guitarist. r.
Absolutely loved the AWB.
Saw them four times and never a bad concert ( the one at the dome supported by Inner Circle was genius)
Lot of music snobbery going one this thread. I saw Duran Duran three times and loved every concert. Energy created and great fun concerts. So what if a load of young girls liked them….the early Beatles shows were full of screaming young girls.
First time I have heard Rio broken down by bass and that is genius. I remember seeing an interview with Black Sabbath and Tommi saying how Geezer Butler was originally a rhythm guitarist, but Tommi insisting that they only needed one guitarist, so he took up bass and ended up playing the bass like a lead guitarist. Again if you look at some of the YouTube videos and listen to Sabbath albums, he is not the regular type of bass player.
Chic / sister Sledge/ sugar hill gang etc bass player, Bernard Edwards is my all time favourite bass player.
I loved them. I like a bit of pop. One of the many bands that dragged me out of my snobby music purist silo, that began to melt in the late 70s when I bought The Average White Band's second album.
