Hopefully on Patriots Day I shall again be working in Fenway Park's pre-game Autograph Alley, where I give out photos of old players and coaches for the Red Sox nation to go and get signed by them in exchange for a free ticket to the game. I do this partly to help out my brilliant father in law, who in his teens was the Red Sox's batboy (titter ye not) when Ted Williams was still playing for them.

So, predictably, Boston Red Sox for me too. And if anyone's around in Boston on Patriots Day, come to the club shop on Yawkey Way and say hello.

Did you decide to do the fantasy league in the end, Easy?

Naah. To be honest I've never even liked SOCCERBALL fantasy league much, so doing a baseball one doesn't overly appeal.

I'm just following my team through the excellent At Bat app - bottom of the 5th, 4-3 up on the Orioles right now, with 2nd and 3rd bases loaded....COME ON

You should consider it next season, if we do one. I reckon it'll be fun (I haven't done one before either). It would certainly speed up your learning curve of the players who DON'T play for the Twins.

By the way, the phrase "bases loaded" means all the bags are full (ie men on 1st, 2nd AND 3rd), so your terminology wasn't quite right - but you're getting there :)

Ahh ok, ta

Twins picked up 3 more runs in that 5th, currently 7-4 up in the 6th. They're 14-14, 7th in the standings. So not *too* shabby* eh.

Ahh. And I have my BARBECUE shirt already for this year, in case we get a summer. :)

:jester:

I just love your optimism Easy!! Weve got a whole raft of injuries at the mo and the pitching is looking especially weak. If Mauer and Morneau stay fit and if Willingham regains form the hitting will be strong but its the pitching that looks woeful. perkins is a class closer but he needs somthign to close.

For tonights draft, Hicks maybe a long bet and Sano, no :5 top prospect may still make the roster at the start but could certainly be a mid-season pick. Also the pitcher Ceduno injured now but pretty much was player of the World Classic. sent to minors but will probably start by end of April.

Some (very very small) hope for the Twins...

Anyone been doing their homework for tonights fantasy draft?

Up the Pink Knickerbockers!!!!

I actually did do a bit of window shopping last night. I'm concerned that by taking it more seriously than previous years, I am likely to be even less successful.

Well, rightly or wrongly, I'm drawing a bit of encouragement from the Twins exploits in the Grapefruit League this month. They're 4th in the Standings now on a 15-14, and after a rocky start, the results really seem to have picked up (another win last night, 9-5 against the Orioles, a team who hammered them 7-1 about 10 days ago). I appreciate its just pre-season and like over here you just can't read too much into the results. But by the same token, its not like they're playing the equivelant of Lewes and Bognor for their warm-ups, this is more of a "proper" pre-season competition against real MLB opposition. So in my blissful ignorance, I'm full of hope and optimism for the season, for the moment at least.

I will bow to your greater knowledge though, and adopt a doom-mongering outlook when it all starts going Pete Tong when the real stuff starts on Monday. Can't bloody WAIT though

Dont get me wrong Easy, Im very supportive of your optimism. Weve got one of the youngest teams in MLB and we are very patient (seen Fargo? Thats what Minnesotans are like... though Ive only ever spent two days there in my life) and if we dont finish bottom of the pile this year will be a success as we plan for the future. Were the equivalent of Swansea last season so who knows?

And its always great to have a fellow supporter :)

This is a reminder that your NSC Fantasy Baseball League draft is scheduled for March 27 at 4:00 PM ET, but your league is not yet full.

League Name: NSC Fantasy Baseball League

Be aware that if the league is not full at least one hour before the scheduled draft time, your draft will not be held and you will have to reschedule for another time.

I got this too. I don't know what constitutes "full" or whether Nick knows.

Also when I click on the NSC league hyperlink it doesnt work
