Yep, don't know what he was doing there, seemed to be rubbing his eyes after it. He appeared to be indicating he had been dazzled, by something, or just couldn't believe how much he messed it up! 🤣
He did look a bit shocked (embarassed). He misjudged it. & was expecting to come forward to it & ended up rooted & flat footed & got away with it. Otherwise he was solid all night

Bart is scarily good for his age.

Out of all the young players in our squad, I would say he is the most likely to be a guaranteed worldie.

£100m player right here. It would be difficult to accept even that. Chelsea will probably offer us even more though. He's probably off for silly money.

I'm not disagreeing but there was a time when we had near consensus Sanchez was a £50m player.
The £20(?)m we got seems good now. You can't really speculate on his current value as being at Chelsea any transfer negotiations are going to be about wages being picked up rather than fees.

Not really comparable, as Verbruggen is now an experienced international, and pretty much proven to be quality at club level over several seasons now, despite his age.

Sanchez was merely a young keeper with some good performances for us over a season or two, who got picked for the Spain squad in friendlies a couple of times.

Not to mention, they got a discount price because he fell out with the club a bit, and didn't want to be here.

While I agree about Bart, Sanchez was 25 when Chelsea brought him and had played twice as many PL game for us as Bart currently has. He also had Unai Simon, one of the best goalies in the world, keeping him out of the Spanish starting XI. He was still picked for the Spain squads for the 2020 Euros and the 2022 World Cup which is a bit more than making a few friendly squads.

Bart has been lucky in that he's come through when most of the decent Dutch keepers were coming to the end of their careers and they don't have the depth that Spain has. He's taken his chance to establish himself as their number one and with a fair wind will be for the next 10 years at least and deservedly so.

Think he had a good game but there was a couple of flaps that worried me yesterday, obviously I’m just a harsh critic when it comes to keepers!
