I'm a bit too young to appreciate the politics behind this really and know more about Hitler and Stalin then I do about Thatcher. All I know is she was meant to have shut down the mines and she took away free milk. And those are meant to be Bad Things.

It does seem a shame that we no longer have a truly socialist labour party though.

Christ on a Bike, do some research then, it is not that difficult.

She did rather more that shutting down the mines and taking away free milk BTW, hence the rather polarised opinions being posted on here.

Personally I was a I first time voter in 1979 but I'm keeping my powder dry for page 45 or so.......

Fortunately history will judge Margaret Thatcher on her achievements. People hear how Henry Kissinger recalls her today. To the total nobodies wittering away about Thatcher on NSC- what are you doing with your life? Thatcher will be remembered for centuries - you are known by no-one and will be forgotten in about a fortnight.

Don't forget the desire to wind up the tories on here. I am feeling this quite strongly so i think i might just go to sleep and hope i can stave off the nightmares of the milk snatcher. :)

I did forget to make allowances for that in all fairness, not sure how considering that NSC + politics tends to end in tears roughly 100% of the time!

I've heard the Manchester derby may now be postponed this evening.

She absolutely hated football. The Hillsborough tragedy would never have happened if her government decided not to put up fences and treated all football fans as scum. Hooliganism was drifting away at the end of the eighties anyway because of the start of the drug, ecstasy and 'love' calmed firms down.

I'm looking forward to the Manc derby tonight.

My thoughts go to her family at what must be a very sad time she is proving to be as divisive in death as in life a huge political figure who changed the face of British politics I never voted for her her way was never my way of seeing the world but she made politics intresting unlike todays bunch none of which make my blood boil like she could as such I admired and despised her in equal measures RIP mrs T

She'll be remembered for centuries in a bad way by many. I've forgotten you already.

Loved her! That ****, scargill called a strike in the summer holidays(dumb arse), didn't ballot his members(dictator). His only concern was a chance to bring himself in to politics, he did not give a damn about his members rights. To get rid of that commie no hoper was her greatest achievement. The unions were a disgrace in those days, even in my days on building sites, the threats we had to put up with from union commies was far worse than anything from Mrs T!. She allowed us all to work hard and prosper from it. Jealousy of anyone who works hard and earns well is rife in this country..This country could do with her now!

Balderdash.

'This country could do with her now'?!

Don't need her, the poor are getting ****ed already.
