It was a brilliant watch on TV for the neutral, last 20 minutes seemed to last for ever.

The only downside is that Dickie Bird might incorporate the day into his painfully rambling one-man show that he occasionally embarks on. This normally consists of such gems as : "Ah, Beefy, 'e were a raht character."

Great results yesterday, am going to watch the cup games now. As after last years dull final I decided I wasn’t going to bother watching cup games involving the top 4 anymore.

when was the last time NONE of the big four made the semi finals?

By my reckoning - 1987.

Tottenham Hotspur
Watford
Coventry City
Leeds United

However, Spurs were considered one of the 'Big Five' - consisting of them, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton at the time, so that kind of distorts it. So if you want a 'when was the last time none of those six ('Big Five' plus Chelsea) didn't make it to the semi-final?', you'd have to go back to... 1975.

Birmingham City
West Ham United
Fulham
Ipswich Town

Personally, I think it's bloody marvellous that this has happened - it's fantastic for football and re-kindled some of my faith in football and all of my interest in this year's tournament, and while there may not be the technical skills of Manchester United or Chelsea in the final, there will at least be two teams in the final wanting to win it, rather than two giants trying not to lose it.

with a dose of fortune. I can't see Bristol Rovers getting through.

Barnsley for the FA Cup!

Proved right on Cardiff winning at Middlesbro'. The home team got stuffed and were never really in the game.
