No these were £60 last year, and I would guess with what's going on with the Euro probably £100 this year.
This bbq was the inspiration for the BarbeSkew.
That's why mine has the blue cover!
I also dealt with 3 problems on this one:
1. Difficult to clean out (the BarbeSkew has a easy clean lifting out charcoal tray)
2. No lid (essential to give a better bbq flavour, and also important in the UK)
3. The small skewers don't go up and down, so if the charcoal is too hot, you burn your kebabs (as I found out!) I remedied this by creating a charcoal tray that raises and lowers thus altering the heat.
If you put a barbeSkew next to the Greek Cypriot bbq, then you'd go for the barbeSkew evreytime!
And don't forget there is now BarbeSkew II which at only £179.95 is even more of a bargain!

Mr BarbeSkew I have to say you are a legend for even looking into such matters. Why BBQ's and how much time and effort have you spent, grilling various kebabs.
Living in a flat in central Brighton, I just have a portable Weber which is fab for camping and days out, 1000 times better than the disposable ones we always used to use.
However If I had a garden I would go for one of your great creations, I hope someone on NSC buys one and posts a review.

I am not a fan of Mr Cowell, however a friend of mine did a trek in Peru for the RSPCA a couple of years back, wrote to loads of people and he sent a cheque for a few grand. I have to watch my potty mouth whenever he is on TV, or leave the room in respect

Finally got to use the Barbeskew
Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know that I used the Barbeskew over the weekend and it was great.
It cooked the food to perfection and everyone was happy, it really is a great piece of equipment. Everyone was taken by the Barbeskew and business should be booming for them as I informed all my guest where they could get a hold of one.
However..... lol there are a few things that I would do to improve it, as one or two things stood out as troublesome:
Firstly, the full sets of skewers cannot all be used at the same time, with the nine small skewers (as seen in the first picture added into this topic), you cannot use the two above, only the one highest, this is a shame, if they were spread out just a little more, you could use them all together, and when having a party, as we did, it would help a lot more, getting lots on at one time, instead of a few.
Secondly, not sure why this happened or whether this was just a problem with ours, but the handles on the skewers kept on falling off, it could be just a fault with ours but it was a pain. Maybe is a screw or pin was used to secure them from the outside, this would prevent this, but I am sure a little glue will fix this.
Thirdly, it would have been ideal to put a storage tray underneath, this way all the coals and such could have been kept together, and as the space is void, it really would have been an added bonus.
And lastly, all I can say is that the Barbeskew was fantastic and with just the few minor issues, I loved it. I am now trying to get a hold of some accessories, as when I purchased mine, the added extras included were not included when it arrived, so need to get them in as the set together should function better for all occasions.
Hope my experience helps and I am really looking forward to the next Barbecue party

Having just blown just over £350 on a new shed, my budget couldn't stretch to a Barbeskew this summer, so I bought an Ottowa from B&Q for £80 (10% discount) which I'm VERY happy with. Its got an auxiliary grill suspended above the main one for keeping cooked food warm, and a fabulous protruding KNOB which when turned enables the coals to be raised/lowered under the grill as required.
Its not as flash as the Barbeskew obviously, but I may well invest in one in a couple of years time.

Bought a Barbeskew II a couple of weeks ago, managed to get it for £150 from drinkstuff.com.
It looks fantastic and everyone who has seen it in action has been impressed with the rotating skewers which create perfectly cooked food.
I haven't been able to use the 2 cage skewers yet as the clips that hold them closed don't appear to line up properly but hopefully this will be resolved by them and I'll be able to report back soon.
