Barbecues - I really really want one of THESE

I saw it in a garden centre yesterday, and was almost in TEARS because I left without it. Its called a Barbeskew, and its AMAZING.

Get this. You have 9 skewers on the lower level, and two wire cages on the upper level, and thanks to a nifty little built-in motor, the skewers and cages INDEPENDENTLY ROTATE over the coals, cooking the meat inside and out to perfection. You can load your meat, close the lid, flick the switch and forget about it till its cooked. The larger handle sticking out at the bottom-right allows the coal tray to be lowered and raised according to your culinary requirements. The skewers and cages are detachable so you can also operate it as a traditional grill BBQ as well. Apparently it featured on Dragons Den a couple of years ago.

I want one of these SO BADLY its making me physically ILL. The stumbling block is....its £300 (although the website was carrying a special offer price of £270 with a cover and some odds and sods thrown in). Currently looks like they're out of stock though :(

I'm having great difficulty in persuading the missus that we should blow £300 on a bbq though. They've got a smaller version of this thing coming out next month for £150, which she's ok with, but its nowhere near as IMPRESSIVE looking. I really want the big one so I can show off and stuff. Its an INVESTMENT in our summer joyness innit.

I'm working on it.

...........and I have a fully fitted £15,000 kitchen.Nice.

Dragons' Deal for you

Wow - can't believe my little machine's caused such a stir!

I love this thread so much that any North Standers living in or near Brighton can have the Dragons' Deal (that was only on offer until 31 December 2008!)

And I'll come round and assemble it for you!

But don't tell all the people who are currently paying full price for it!

Cheers

Mr BarbeSkew

I hope so Laura :)

You see, I'm hosting the Cup Final this year. It is a long a laborious political process amongst several bidders that often causes some friction. This year, my bid is a solid one. I have the large screen LCD, Dolby Surround, several agreeable local hostelries, I have full back garden facilities, and I have a large BBQ grill of which I am a master. Last years bid failed largely on the fact that one of my mates has a Sky HD box, which I do not. However, I consider this to be an overrated facility.

If I have a Barbeskew in my back garden on Cup Final day then I will, quite simply, pass into legend.

:albion2: I'll wear full fire kit and stand beside the Barbesquew with a dry-power extinguisher, a la F1 marshall.

I am an attentive host. Burnt or undercooked food does not enter into the equation.

Funny isn't it, in Cyprus they've had these babies for donkeys years

Cost you about £30 all in, or for a double size one about £40. Everyone has one, they really don't have any other type of BBQ there.

How much is the "new" invention then? Curious like.
