Some people on this thread make me laugh.
The owner is doing something that (I guess) the vast majority of Hull Fans do not want and not only do they not want it, they're angry about it. And it's a change which is being made purely because the owner fancies it. There's very little business case for it.
It's the principal of the thing that I don't like. The same with Vincent Tan. I don't give a rats arse where he comes from. But it smacks of the owner not caring about the fans and using the club as his plaything.
I understand you can't make decisions based on the individual opinions of 30k fans - you'd never get anywhere. But showing such blatant disregard for their feelings says to me that the owner cares more about his own agenda than the club itself. And that's wrong.
Of course, in the grand scheme of things it's no big deal. They've still got their nice stadium in the Premier League, and boohoo they might have a different name, so what right?. But where does it end? The essence of a club means a lot to a great deal of people, taking away that feeling of "this is our club" is something that no owner should ever do. Tony Bloom has done his best, IMO to avoid sending that message and that's why we're so bloody lucky.
So, in my opinion, we should support them. It's a selfish choice that their owner is making and the more these types of things happen, the more they will continue to happen in the future.
If supporting fellow football fans (just like you and I) makes you CRINGE, maybe you should ask yourself why that is rather than criticising others who are trying to help.
