Visible from my office window, this appeared Monday morning just Oxford Street.

Picture doesn't really do it justice to be honest, when you get up close it's rather impressive and it's big.

I think it's probably the biggest one he's ever done to date. Note the kid (part of the art) rollering on the words and the policeman down the left watching him.

read about it in the paper yesterday

so that he didn't get caught - his team smuggled into the compound and erected scaffolding and a screen and he worked behind it.

the joke is that on the right is a CCTV camera

To be honest (having read the story too), it's the post office sorting offices car park with a low fence and it's right next to the road.

Would have very easy to get in there (easier than the picture below implies)

There is also some building work going on around there too - so a screen wouldn't have looked out of place.

.. but to have the audacity to do it there because of a CCTV camera.

However, what's impressive is how level the letters are. Absolutely spot on, so must have erected some temporary scaffolding.

Yay for Banksy.

Street art is proper exploding at the moment. Can you put a price on that wall?

As much as he isn't saying things we don't know already at least he's putting in the public eye and making folks realise those who choose to 'vandalise' things have at least summat to say.

Plus his book is GOOD.

I'd have to disagree. Something like that is a world away from the shit I'm constantly painting over on my front wall.

He's got talent, it's very satirical and that's the reason he's getting away with it. Plus someone will probably put a bid in for that wall for thousands....

Just because of that, it doesn't legitimise someone spraying what is usually shit on the nearest wall.

Fair play. I'm a little too drunk to answer properly right now but in the morning I'll try to put into words why I think whatever people write on walls is important.

Not so sure about Banksy anymore

its a bit cool to like his stuff now when really its a load of paint and some stencils and some private eye humour. Theres better graff I'd rather look at. His book is good though

I agree and have had this conversation with Chappers before.

Still very much looking forward to his musings on the merits of 'Alison sucks cock'. The merits of writing that rather than the enactment of said phrase.

My goodness, I was well drunk and self righteous last night. I'm not even sure what I'm arguing now.

All I think is that graffiti artists serve a purpose and I couldn't give a f*** what they right or where they right it, though this doesn't include stuff like 'Alison sucks cock'.

I think I might still be drunk now actually because that doesn't read very well or really make any point.

I quite like some of his stuff, kissing coppers etc but this is IMHO trustafarian rubbish. hardly saying anything new is he?

The only impressive thing is that he did it under a cctv camera.

But I'm not a big fan of Graffitti or the people who paint it so I'm probably bound to dislike it.

I also don't have a problem with cctv as it helps convict people of abducting children, rape, robbery, violence, dis-order, assault and helps to locate missing children and adults. As the saying goes, if you ain't doing anything wrong...

What from I understand the stats associated with CCTV suggest it doesn't.

I'm not a fan of Graffiti either (see above:D), but close up it's actually very impressive.
