what the hell is that suppose to mean!

so because someone doesn't agree with your opinion they are now the sheep herd?

Sheep are people who all say the same thing but if there is one or two who don't see things in the same light then they are 'clueless'.

We may have one defeat in 16 games but to look at it another way, we haven't won a league match for over a month. We have been playing catch up in the last two league matches where we drew.
There are 10 teams who are in with a shout of the top of the table so to get promotion or the play-offs we need to beat them.

The game last night was an opportunity to take 3 points from a side who were on level points with us. The performance from both sides was mediocre considering that both teams can play attractive football. Rather than saying it was a point gathered away from home I would say we dropped another two points. Everything was up in the air aimed at Bas who won most of the headers but they ended up going to a Rovers defender. Passing it along the floor produced better results in the 2nd half but why was Coxy still playing in the middle after Reidy came on ?

Firstly, it is a marathon and not a sprint. We are a team that is hard to beat which is always a decent foundation to a successful season.

Secondly, we are still rebuilding. We have been in decline for a while - probably since the Ipswich game or before. Dean has had to rebuild the team as McGhee was not able to sign players to replace the outgoings, for various reasons.

Thirdly, we have played some of the better teams recently. Leyton Orient were at the top for a reason and we showed great resolve to comeback TWICE. Carlisle were top and we did well to GAIN a point when down to ten men and Doncaster was never going to be an easy fixture, having played so much football recently.

Doncaster could be regarded as a promotion rival and I am sure they will see last nights result as two points lost - a draw at home against a fellow rival. Ditto for Leyton Orient.

I know you were smarting from the acrimonious McGhee departure, but thatshould not detract from the current manager. You answered the 'How much does it cost a Superfan thread' - Surely a superfan would get behind the management? ;)

So why can't we think the same way?

Agreed . By the way were you sitting next to Liz last night down the front, as I saw a wayward football heading in that direction when the players were warming up ?

No I had a training course yesterday so couldn't get the time off work.

When was the last time that we went 10 games unbeaten?

Probably when Peter Taylor was here. I didn't like him as a manager.
Perhaps my not liking a manager is good for the team.

Just had a look on soccerbase, we did it twice under Taylor. After our defeat against Stoke on the tele we went unbeaten for the last 10 games, would the following seasons results countine in the unbeaten run? As that would make it 12 with Burnley away and Coventry at home so be includeing Hinch in there

Went 12 games undefeated earlier in the season only to lose to Cambridge in the pisspot Ldv cup.

Mcghee best was 7 between Febuary and March 2004.

Good points, well made. Another thing - the last three games have not just been about getting a point for BHA - the draws deprived our potential play-off rivals of two points. In the past we have often lost to teams we could least afford to lose to. Not this season (so far).

To be honest before this run of games against the sides in the top 6, i said to people at work that if we are still withing touching distance of the play-offs (ie 3 or 4 points behind) after the Swindon away game i would take that as the worst case senario. As i think we will/should get a fair few points during the christmas and new year period.

We're doing extremely well for a team who most outside of the Albion, and some Albion fans on here too, believed would struggle this season.

i know what sheep are ! !

we might not have won a league game for a month which is a worry but have played a lot of cup football in that month which has got in the way and probably hasn't helped matters.also would help if we wanted to go up (which im not sure we will) if we win against some of these teams but not losing ground when playing them away from home helps to.

in the 3 promotion seasons how many away wins did we have against the teams that finished in the top 6?

drew a lot lot and lost a few but not many wins thats why these teams are up there as they dont get beat to often! it's the home games you really need to win which at the moment we need to improve generally aginst everyone no matter where there league position lies

how that makes anyone that dont agree with you sheep is unbelivable but then doesn't suprise me !

Absolutely. Look at the games coming up after Forest - Swindon (a), Gillingham (h), Millwall (a), Yeovil (a), Bournemouth (h), Cheltenham (h). The only one of those I can see us losing is at Yeovil, and there is a perfect chance for 9 points from the three home games - I mean you don't get it much easier than Gillingham, Bournemouth, and Cheltenham. I could easily see 11-13 points coming from these 6, which would be an excellent return and see us back in the top 6 I expect.

That's why our current lack of wins is ok, as we're not losing to teams around us. Personally, I'd take a point again on Friday night. We played ok last night. First half was poor, second half was alright, but Doncaster were no better, and as the away side I think we've got to be happy with that. I'm not saying winning these games is a ridiculous idea or "clueless", but at the same time we've got to be a bit realistic. We always knew the run of games ending with Forest would be tough, and we're unbeaten in them so far. That also means, just as importantly, that Carlisle, Orient, Doncaster etc have not taken 3 points from us. So, overall, be happy with where we are, ignore the usual snipers who just want to have a go at Wilkins' team even in the middle of a 10 game unbeaten run, but really demand some good wins in the next month.
cheltenham will have to be latter in the season as 3rd round day

gills seem to have improved at the moment since simpson took over and both dennis oli and this dickson kid scoring goals

yeovil have a funny felling we might be more likely to get something there the way we are playing

agree about the run of orient, carlisle, donny, forest, swindon i thought if we could be in contention after that by getting about 5/7 points from these games that would be a decent return obviously so far we have 3 so a win against forest or swindon would be good

I can't find a single fault with that - well said sir. A draw away from home against anyone in the top half is a good result, regardless of whatever anyone says. To be honest, and I don't aim this at Yorkie solely, it's pathetic how the few people who decided early on that they didn't like Wilkins and are too stubborn to admit they were wrong are clinging to draws away from home against top 6 teams in order to claim we're not doing well! Ask ANY Albion fan what they think of this season, and they'll say we're about 10 places higher than expected.
i was concerned with the away form we might go down if they home form didn't improve as 9 away wins last year was very good going

to be challanging for the play off spots have a decnt cup run or 2 and an entertaining season would have been great back in august and would still be great now

I believe that the formula for promotion was draw away and win at home or an average of 2 points per game to take into account that formula which would give 90+ poins . We have played 18 and got 27 points, so we are 9 points away from automatic promotion form, so with a good holiday period we could pick up some of those points. A couple of wins away from home starting with Swindon would set us on the way after a win at home to Forest.
