It's a great result, especially against a team that didn't play on Saturday. We've played well against good teams in the last few weeks. We're playing far better than anyone could have hoped at the start of the season. I'm just nervous that the "unbeaten run" brigade might be missing the fact that the great form to date might just be slowing down.
Maybe, but we've won the cup games and no sides we have played have been complete mugs, even Cheltenham. So we're still capable of winning. And to be fair we've had a few tough games in the league. Orient we could have won, Carlisle and Donny are decent points I think. Going back to the Walsall game, that is the sort of game that suggests we might just be a fraction short of a playoff team this season. We were all over them for pretty much the whole game, but failed to make it count.

I think we are just one or two players off being a real force, if, say, Currie had been playing for us against Walsall, Bristol Rovers, Leeds, Gillingham, you'd think we'd have been much more likely to create the opportunities to get more points than we did in these games.

Spot on. It was a decent point last night, especially considering how much the conditions are likely to have taken it out of us.

We're one or two players short of anything like a strong squad, but we're a lot closer to the mark on that score than last season and it looks like the team's starting to gel and form some understandings. There were signs of the missing ingredient these last few seasons - MOVEMENT - and if the confidence gained from this unbeaten run (10 in all comps, now?) continues to grow we'll see that movement and passing game come on to a much more consistent degree.

Personally I'm very satisfied at the moment...and we are actually enjoying TWO cup runs too! :O

It's all good.

I think that if we beat Mansfield we'll be the kind of side that the big boys won't want to play esp. if we are drawn at home. They'll take a look at our form and, as importantly, the way in which we play and see a potential banana skin.

Deano is building a very good side ready for us when we get to Falmer. Carry on like this and we'll be playing championship footie in our first season there.

Personally speaking, I couldn't ask for more from Wendy and the boys. Great stuff.

I loved that season !!

My first proper season of travelling to most away games and getting pissed ( I was 16)

Was also my last season as a proper fan and resident of Hove, before I left the country and officially became a "bad fan".

As someone else said the side is two players short of being a very good side at this level - A striker and a winger in my view.

Im not sure how anyone can really moan at the side this year? Its a massive turn around from last year, when a point at Doncaster would have been impressive and not seen as 2 points dropped.

Shades of 1987-88 anyone? Then it was 17 unbeaten in all competitions from the beginning of October to Boxing Day:

And we all know how that season finished... :clap2:
Was going to post that myself. Especially now Forster is playing the Nelson role. :)

I was there at Bristol City when that unbeaten run came to an end - lost 5-2 - cracking game though. And 16,058 was a huge crowd for division 3 in those days.

On the radio, it sounded like a poor game between two poor sides who didn't want to or couldn't win

doncaster certainly wanted to win - they had all the build up with the nice passing moves, but just seemed to want to walk it in. first half we looked like we were set out for the draw, second half we came out and had more of a go, but the substitutions were bizare to say the least

think it came down to their pretty passing game getting them nowhere, and our launch it to savage ploy being equally ineffective

On the subject of 'the radio', the match summariser I think was Paul Camillin and I think he does a very good objective job.

If we aren't playing well or individuals aren't performing he has a subtle way of telling it as it is without being critical. When it comes to players doing a particularly useful job, such as Deano in front of the back four, he is more astute in his praise and picks things up that some people on here don't seem to appreciate.

As not being in the Superfan brigade it is always good to listen to Hawsey and the likes of PC as it certainly gives you a really good understanding of what is going on in places far, far away :albion2::albion2:

That is the minimum I would expect. I would hope that we will have been in the Championship for at least 2 seasons when we get to open Falmer if not looking to the Premiership via playoffs or thereabouts, in our first season at Falmer. Anything else is a failure.

Reading comments like this is just like reading other club's message boards - there are loonies all over the UK :jester:

Either it's an attempt at humour or the poster doesn't understand that other teams not only have 11 people also trying to win a game of football but also almost all the other teams have their own ground and more money. Other than that winning the League is a piece of cake :ascarf::ascarf:
