A random 'oldie but goldie' from china, a wish come true from a list of 25mill+ strikers in and around the PL, a couple of 'who's?' from a league no-one can pronounce or loanees/DS player/s? Who cares, just get some fresh blood in and hope that whoever we get can then fulfil the next part, bedding in to the PL, attitude, goals, consistency, team cohesion...........etc etc. Every option has risks, not just chucking money around and hoping we get the right man. Whatever we end up with, by Feb 1st we will know what we have to work with regardless of 'failure' to do this or that in whatever window, that will be it. I'll be glad when we get past this last window so we can start to focus on the job in hand - the team (whoever that turns out to be), the results and staying up.

That would open the flood gates to other players demanding parity. And we may not be able to match terms eg offering a shorter contract. Plus there are dozens of reasons why a player might not fancy Brighton.

These are really complicated deals and never as simple as just the transfer fee.
