[Albion] Away fans in the home stands

There was an odd bloke next to me in WSU, seemed like a Brighton fan as he did clap a couple of moves by us, but spent the majority of the game filming it and then texting people.
The woman next to him was almost certainly Chelsea as she was dead quiet all game and left rather sharpish when we scored our 4th, she did not look happy. Made me chuckle though.
Apart from that, didn't see any other tourists.

I usually buy my tickets on the exchange. If I hadn't bought tickets for Forrest (on the exchange) as I thought we'd have no chance for Chelsea, your last min tickets are the type of ones I buy. Moral of the story.... always put your tickets on the exchange, if it opens you may have some very happy buyers. Don't assume they're oppo fans.

unfortunately when the big clubs come to town stuff like this will happen, and will happen at every ground around the country. It’s always been the way the some glory hunters don’t support their local team & end up choosing United, Liverpool etc. So when their team is in town and they inevitably can’t get in the away end (because they clearly have no chance with the loyalty points etc), they end up trying to sneak in the home end. You can put procedures in place to prevent it, but sometimes it can’t be totally stopped. It’ll happen just the same at Southampton, Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth etc etc.

I do it at Southampton.

Not for me, I would rather go and watch local non league football, never felt like I’ve missed out not going to an away match.
I can understand if someone likes to see every away game or live near the away ground.

There have been away fans in every match against a 'big' club. I had two Manure fans next to me when we walloped them. Sat silently in their seats every time we scored. The couple of Chelski fans in our stand were removed this time. I don't know why people bother, because I can think of nothing worse than sitting in a home stand and having to sit there in silence. The combination of away fans in the home ends and football tourists is the reason atmospheres suffer at grounds. Ironically, the 'big' clubs are worst for football tourism.

I sat in the home seats (family enclosure, but these 'families...) at the New Den about 15 years ago. Watching Forster score the only goal, while shaking my head sadly, and tutting, was pure exquisite joy

I hate seeing away fans in our stands (unless like on Saturday they have a thoroughly dismal day), however on numerous occasions we have had our own fans glorying in their tales of having to sit on their hands when we’ve scored at an away match with them in the home stands.

I went to Liverpool a few years ago but the day before took in the PL2 Play-off final at Villa Park. I had to go to the ticket office to buy my ticket. Purchase History to Villa Park sorted (though I doubt I'll need it with my LP total)

As someone who lives in the Midlands and has struggled with points in the past, going in the home end is a necessity and has a huge range of experiences. Going and sitting with work colleagues who know I'm a Brighton fan is fine. Wolves, West Brom and Leicester fans are generally good sorts and like us, they reserve their vitriol for the big 6 and local rivals.

Sitting in the Villa end when Stockdale did his imperial leather impression with sock boys shot that gifted Newcastle the Championship, however, is about as bad as an experience as it gets.

Im amazed the atmosphere was so good considering half the crowd seems to have been Chelsea judging from everyone on here stating they had Chelsea fans near them. Judging by the crowd reactions on telly (I couldn't make it) there didn't seem to be too many Chelsea fans in the home ends!!

None anywhere near us, and I am usually quick to spot them,... we took an 8 year old into the Family section of the east, my first time in there,... everyone was
surprisingly partisan and very vocal.... great afternoon.

At the turnstiles, I saw 2 Liverpool fans turned away. Idiots had half and half scarves with Liverpool tops under their jackets.

Meanwhile, the Mitoma fans next to me were Chelsea fans at the start of the game but the one next to me said towards the end “I think I’m a Brighton fan now”.

That’s two matches in succession where we’ve had Mitoma tourists near us. Lovely stuff.

These ambulant seats at the front of the stand should go to those Albion fans who need them. Not to 2 Liverpool "fans" - if you need clear evidence that they’re opposition fans then watch the celebration of the first goal, they’re right behind where Veltman was
