Anyone else see this on Instagram today? Unless the Ticket reseller are an authorised partner of BHAFC then isn’t this scalping?

And if so, why is a fan then posting images tagging them? Allegedly there was a photo of two tickets and a reference to this third party but it has since been removed.

As long as you personally attend five home matches then the exchange system works.

But i’ve been quite seriously ill recently and getting the ‘we noticed you didn’t attend the *** match at the Amex’ emails from the Club do kind of get on my wick. They’ve got my money and, as much as they’d like me to exchange my ticket, I don’t necessarily want some random (potential away supporter) sitting with my family and friends.

Likewise, if you’ve got kids who have season tickets since they were very young then the club sending them similar emails when they’re at university is equally crap.

The club want bums on seats - I get that - but if you’re meeting your obligation to pay via DD then that’s the financial relationship sorted.

The club have a very peculiar interpretation of the word ‘loyalty’.
Will be interesting to see if my son (6) gets that email against city or Southampton, it’s likely he won’t be there as, for no fault of his own, he will be in bed at some point during the game

Myself and 3 of my family sit together, we don’t miss many games but say for instance 2 of us couldn’t make it for games against a big 6 team I wouldn’t want 2 away fans sitting there, especially after reading this thread.

I also don’t agree that a season ticket holder has to pay £20 extra to share a ticket for a few games with an Albion + member (I know it’s free for 1 game)

Different to the old days when we used to rock up at 2.50 at stand on a crumbling terrace

I was in the “club can do little about it” camp however would it be logistically possible for the club to invent a new tier below ‘all ST holders’ namely “Albion+ members that have been to ONE other away match”? Hopefully this wouldn’t inconvenience our northern based fans that can’t make every match.
Maybe I did have a point then 😙 would be the most workable solution

We clearly get away fans near us at the Amex for Tottenham, Arsenal etc but the worst was a rat arsed Man U fan who the stewards took an eternity to move and the idiot then started getting aggressive to some of our fans.

It was ugly and it ended up with a couple of fans helping the stewards to get him down out the way. Otherwise you could see bans coming for some BHAFC fans who were about to take control of the situation.

That’s why I’m reticent to exchange my ticket via the Club scheme as it’s clear there are away fans getting tickets. To friends and family with membership it’s fine but having to pay £20 for an online transaction is a bit miserly by the club.

There are always dozens of tickets available via online secondary market sellers so you’re not stopping it by not putting your ticket on the exchange……..no idea how these tickets are being passed on though. Quick example

Also makes a mockery of those who (when people complain about the Amex atmosphere) say "Oh all Premier League grounds are like that". We know we can turn it on for 'big' games, Liverpool fans can turn it in for humdrum league games against non-elite opposition.

Seemed very quiet for the first 60 odd minutes overall especially considering how big the stadium is, until something changed... ah, they scored two goals which put them back top of the league, which obviously their fans were desperate to hold on to...

Par for the course for atmosphere in this country

A few things:
  • I agree in regards to player comps being a factor. They contribute nothing to the atmosphere. They always stick out a bit and I saw about a dozen people who I think were. That includes Joel Veltman's dad who, despite wearing a half and half scarf, is a good bloke. It's obviously part of the package that club sells to players and I'm guessing Anfield is the most popular destination (maybe Old Trafford) so there will be more than usual. The solution is simple, stick them all together so they don't break up our actual support
  • The plastic Scousers who hold membership have an easy fix. Restrict sales of big 5 (not City) away matches to membership accounts that have attended 3 or so less desirable away matches. It may inconvenience a very trivial amount of people but so do all the ticketing policies.
  • The touting again has a fix. ID every entry to the big 5 away matches. A bit annoying admittedly but if well advertised in advance and planned for properly it would easily work
  • A breathalyser test before entry. Anyone scoring under 160 is stopped (this one is a joke)

Agree that the atmosphere was drab in the first half but it had begun to improve prior to the equalizer.

@Talby said he didn’t want these fans sitting next to his family in his seat if he put it on the exchange, same as myself I don’t want a Liverpool etc sitting next to me if my son is working and can’t make it. I would rather have the empty seat.

I like the idea of the club letting people set their own loyalty points bands when they put their tickets on the exchange.

They could even let us set our own BHA quiz to make sure only a really knowledgeable and discerning Brighton supporter can buy the ticket.

This might come across as me being ironic, I'm not. I genuinely love the idea. Wildly impractical though it may be.

Fair point but the club are clamping down on that…hence the slightly threatening emails if you deliberately leave a seat empty

Football journalists (not aligned to either club) on the day said the TAA handbags with … was it Estupinan/Mitoma … at 0:1, was like a switch in getting the home crowd going. In a similar way to a refereeing injustice gets a sleepy Alex going I suppose.

Hurzeler called the crowd atmosphere in the second half “wild”, intimated it affected the players, all part of their learning curve.

They are upsetting people that are ill and currently can’t make it, they have not thought that through, I’m not sure if the ST holder can reply directly to this type of threatening email to tell the club they are not well.
One of my sons has just had an operation and will miss some games, I expect he will get the email. He got a new job in the summer which meant he sometimes has to be on call at the weekend, this has made him also miss games.
In previous seasons he’s hardly missed a home game and been to hundreds of away games.
