Fascinating.

First things first, it was most definitely you who came onto this thread to call me a bellend, so don't start telling me I'm childish.

I'm a student and I don't have a lot of money. When I do have money, I have the choice between spending it on socialising and doing things I enjoy like going on holidays, or spending it all on a coach fare down to Brighton every weekend and then even more to get into the Football for 2 hours. Do I WANT to go more often? Yes. But whilst match tickets remain sky high and whilst I live in Leeds, it wont be happening.

Of course I've said this many times before but no doubt I'll have to type it out next week as well.

I think your initial post was bound to provoke a reaction, the highlighted bit above seems very reasonable to me

Brighton is not anyone's closest away game and for many clubs it will be their furthest or one of their furthest. It says allot for Brighton that despite this, Brighton always have had a very decent away following and still do. Average of about 1300/1500 with the distances travelled is very good. Whilst northern clubs more often than not have supporters clubs and lots of fans in London, Brighton is still a treck for almost all clubs. So that is why away fans numbers are not always that large at Brighton. I would have thought Charlton would have taken more, nice time of year, weekend in Brighton, vital game. A bit odd that one.

I live in the west country..... 300 mile round trip to each game.....your point is?

1) It's closer than Leeds

2) Your an adult with a job and an income. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say you don't have much of a life beyond football.

Ha....that limb is a bit flimsy mate.....the Albion is mixed in with a number of other interests...... Rugby, wife, beer, walking, road cycling, motorbike, dog walking, gigs.......lots of gigs.

Student if what, exactly? Media?

I'm also a student. I only have about £80 each week as disposable income. I still manage at least ten away game a year, whilst maintaining a social life outside of football. If you really wanted to, I'm sure you can attend more games. If not, don't complain. I don't think other people want to hear it!

Its along way to go, plus its not the easiest stadium to get to.

I guess we got a good away attendance last year because the fans knew we had a new stadium and wanted to check it out. They probably realise its not too easy to get to now!

Although Brighton is a good weekend away.

I would think that a fair amount of potential away fans come on here before we play them and learn:

The atmosphere is crap.
We play negative sideways football.
The beer runs out.
The food runs out.
The transport is terrible.

And thnk twice.

Wrong
They don't come to see us
Wrong

The transport to the stadium is good.

But alot of away fans drive to an away game, I always drive to away games. And if you are driving, its not an easy groud to get to. Most people when they drive to away games, park on a road few streets away from the ground and then walk to the stadium, you cant do that for The Amex. You would have to park in Brighton (which isnt easy or cheap) and then get a train to Falmer.

Old hat that EP..... I have nobody in the current squad worthy of my scorn, or even pins,...... some with an average performance from time to time, but fine bar that.

Spot on and the club don't seem to make much effort to highlight the options regarding 'official' parking open to away fans on their site.
