But our club, and the other PL clubs, and the EPL itself don't give a stuff about the beheaders breaking the EPL rules and seriously inconveniencing fans.

If our club (and the others) cared about fans at away matches, they would have done something about getting the rule implemented.
They were given a one year dispensation. Eight years ago.

No thanks, my over riding memory of phoning the seagull line during an away match was Millard, after the blurb, saying “Bad news for Albion fans” pretty well every time I phoned :lolol:

From hazy memory I seem to remember we were generally very good at home and pretty shit once we went north of the Watford Gap.
But at least you always knew in great detail how the reserves had got on against Colchester United the night before.

No. Not a clue it had happened. I was actually annoyed that the ref did not show a card. But I overheard someone talking about it and then, with glee, counted the players to be sure.

Yeah, we ended up counting them when the game restarted!

So the sportwashers been allowed to spend massive money on their team but the premier league have done nothing when it would only cost a fraction of that to make the changes to move the away fans.
Exactly right. From what I read NUFC's original argument was that there was nowhere else in the ground (apart from where they are now) that they could house away fans that wouldnt cause an issue with home & away fans clashing when they exit/enter the stadium. But anyone who's been to the current away section of SJP will know that you basically have to enter the lower level of the stadium, completely mixed in with the home support, before then getting stairs or a lift up. So that reasoning is bullshit. The current situation is not safer, nor are you kept away from the home fans. & if true they've had years now to make the necessary changes.

From what I've heard, the majority of the league's owners and CEOs agree with you on the bullshit claim. A concession was made when the rule came in and Newcastle haven't really changed anything since so it stands. If they update/move the ground then I think the majority of the league will be ready to force the change.

Similar with United and their lack of big screens in view of the pitch.

Barber has complained about it at events I've attended. But not sure it will ever be a priority for the league

I was worried that one of our players had done something
Yep. Given Taylor's utter aversion to booking the Newcastle players for almost anything yesterday, I was convinced that he was going to go after Joao Pedro for (completely unnecessarily) running halfway across the pitch to shove Gordon in that melee.

Yes, I did, but in error I believed it was a second yellow as I thought he got booked in the first half (he didn't but was close to the Newcastle player that did)
But what do you expect when the incident was at the far end away from us, and about 2,000 miles below our position in the ground.

I only realised it was a straight red, when people around me starting saying he was banned from the League Cup final, which given a second yellow is only a one game ban, it had to be a red.

At first I thought he’d tried a delicate little dink and overcooked it and it had gone over the bar.

Was quite a weird technique for the ball to end up where it did and the surprise that it actually went in made it even sweeter.

Not sure the neighbours in the flat upstairs were quite so appreciative though!
This - I really thought from his body position and the angle on television that he’d put it over. It seemed to happen in slow motion. I only realised it was in when he wheeled away to celebrate.
