Did he spend £100m or was it spent and he had to use the players they bought

Well it could be one or the other but £100m for a club like Spuds is a hell of lot given they have been demolished twice already this season.

Roberto Soldado has let AVB down with his lack of goals from open play. Yes, he's scored penalties to win games at Palace, Swansea (home) and Hull City (home) but for almost 30m, the highest paid player at the club and a Spanish international, he should be challenging for the Golden Boot.

I think Soldado will turn out to be a decent buy. Paulinho and Eriksen look good as does Chiriches. Chadli is rubbish, Capoue is nothing special. The X Factor is Lamela. For Spurs to finish Champions League they need to find a manager that can get him to play.

Will he travel by Underground again and show everyone at the press conference his ticket. That was a very very bizarre time in Spurs' history. It was the equivalent of putting Frank Spencer in charge of a nuclear reactor.

If he had been a success, would we have had the situation of Gus Poyet showing everyone his day saver bus ticket on appointment at Brighton?

Of course. Rumour has it Poyet is a huge fan of On The Buses. His favourite characters being Olive and Blakey. Olive because she reminds him of his first crush back home in Montevideo. He loves Blakey because he reminds him of his PE teacher who gave him a make shift football at the age of 6 made out of Crab-eating Raccoon guts.

Well not really. You do realise someone ASKED him the question? He didn't just throw it out there.

He said: ‘It’s always flattering, but I just came here and I am concentrating here.’

Not really sure where the ego aspect is...

I don't think anyone's denying that's a lot to spend but they don't seem to bought a) great players or b) players in positions the squad needed.
And pre-season everyone was spoke about how great Commoli's signings were, the only one AVB whad a hand in was Soldado apparently

Perhaps it's egotistial to answer a journalist's question. He should have said. "I'm Sunderland's manager 4 Ever" hacked 4 ever into his arm Manic's-style and stormed out of the press conference
