'Verdict: I know Festus took the dance short notice but i am sure he forgot the dub box, I dont think coxsone played more than 10 dubs all night. It was the worst i have ever heard them play in my life.

Saxon played well, trevor and musclehead performed well but they didnt hit top gear, it reminded me of usain bolt couple of years ago when he was looking into the crowd while running. Trevor sax says him and muscle have a plan for 2012, so lets wait and see. Saxon did good.

Rodigan i feel gave the best performance of the night. He played tunes we know he has but for some reason we still like to hear them, i cant explain it. When i was on my way to the dance me and my bredren was naming all the tunes that rodi was gonna play, and he did play dem!! he is predictable but also a dangerous selector. Well done Rodigan a pat on the back for you sir'

Gwaan Roddy, everybody love you....dance line-up was originally Black Scorpio from JA, but for some reason or other, they pulled out and were replaced by Sir Coxsone.

“In 1985 G.T. Hi Fi muscled in on the Jamaican sound system scene challenging sounds like Stereo One, Black Star, Destiny and the ruling Killamanjaro. Pre 1985 it seems they were originally a sound from New York City. But by ‘84 G.T.’s owner, Altimond the “Don”, was setting his sights higher and he had acquired an impressive arsenal of specials to take on the Ja sounds. With that in mind they relocated to Jamaica, with a strong possibility their home base was in Browns Town in St Ann.
There must have been a very close connection with the Black Scorpio sound as their deejays Sassafrass, General Trees, Shukashine and Colour Chin all often featured together on G.T.’s sessions. Other G.T. regulars were albino deejay Purpleman, Johnny “Hulk” Ashley and singers King Kong and Woody Noble. The duty of selecting all those custom made specials fell to Little “Kid” Screw and Arthur Dread with Purpleman doubling up on the mixer. Their best known clash is perhaps the dust up with Killamanjaro held at the NCC Club in May 1985 in which they put up a very strong showing against the then current dancehall champions.”

'U Roy's Sturgav set are in session at the great SNWMF and they give the Boonville massive a real dancehall treat. Steve drops plenty of 'steelplate' business including specials from Johnny Osbourne, Shabba Ranks & Leroy Gibbons. He also drops some dancehall classics in the mix before Daddy U Roy steps up to the mic to drop his 'Jah Jah call you' lyrics to the delight of the crowd. Daddy Roy then calls Briggy to the tower and he chats the 'General' 'Jamaica Jamaica' & plenty more of his hits. Also in attendance is veteran female Rasta deejay Sister Carol who after telling the crowd she was inspired by Daddy Roy & Briggy mashes up the dance with her reality lyrics. Steve drops plenty of Studio 1 & classic dancehall rhythms for the artists to ride making this a real gem of a recording. Great stuff indeed'

WCTD again, massive thanks...love this session.

'King Sturgav are in Portland for this session. Even though the year is 1999 they are still playing in the old dancehall style and with Ilawi the 12 Tribes selector at the controls you know its going to be Worries!
Sugar ‘Booga’ Minott is on fire as always as he gives us classic after classic including Vanity, Roll River Jordan, Hang on Natty, Lovers race and more.

There is a very sad moment when Sugar asks for a minute’s silence in memory of Dennis Brown.
We also get a showcase from the great Admiral Tibet as he sings some of his tunes over Ilawi’s selection.
The new school is represented by vocalist Quench Aid.
Its not all singers as the deejays don’t fail to impress. Even though Daddy Roy is suffering from the flu he still manages to nice it up over an Everton Blender selection. Principal Chaplin is also on good form for this session'
