So long since I have done VAT return but isnt the money coming in ie revenue liable for input Vat and the money that you spend on expenses etc liable for output. Or have I got it the wrong way round.

Wrong way round, VAT on income is Output, VAT on expenditure is Input, it does sound back to front I admit

Easy is WRONG, the Albion pay a transport levy on everyone that attends the match. Therefore it makes sense to exclude all STH's who don't turn up.

There are two sets of figures. The first is the attendance figure which is taken from the computer in the control room which is linked to all the turnstiles. This is the figure which when added to the stubs taken at Gate 21, Directors' entrance etc, which are not strictly turnstiles, is announced as the attendance figure and it is this figure which is published - representing the number of people at the game.

A second set of figures are sent to the Football League which is the number of tickets sold, including season tickets. This is accompanied by the match costs such as stewards, police etc and it is this that provides League stats on club expenses and income. The League never see the first figure.

If you want ot PM me before Saturday I can arrange for you to see the system working if that will reassure you.

Thanks Colbourne Kid. Happy to take that on face value. I'm not after assurances, its just good to have some clarification after the FL said it was purely on "ticket sales only", which did surprise me. So the Withdean attendences are exactly as announced after all.

Splendid.

In a pile of football shirts
:lolol: they don't count the paper stubs, Phil, it's a bit more technical than that!

(they have a midget sitting underneath each turnstile, counting the number of feet that go past, and writing it on a chalkboard, and then they add up all the midgets' chalk marks, and divide that by two).

Ah, now, we go in through Gate 21, there are no turnstiles, no-one tears off our ticket stub. I could take my ticket and Superwifes, and hand them over in an envelop to someone at the gate after I have gone in and they could then gain access to the ground having not paid.

*Of course I would never do that, but I could.

Sounds like a mission for Kev the Ape, havent had one of his reports for a while

There are certainly some clubs that give out exactly the same attendance figures for sell out games.

We had identical attendance figures for 2 consecutive games when we were at Gillingham...nothing fishy there then Mr Scally!
