There are huge investments into new tech for fans going back into stadia , full testing will be pretty much universal and the vaccine available to all early next year - so I 'll take a punt and say March .In 5 months. This will coincide with our remaining home games when we will need a few points to secure safety . Will the players freeze or flourish ? I do work in the sports media industry so I have some inside information on this . Might be the following season but it's in everyones interests for it to be sooner rather than later clearly.
I think perhaps Chelsea Pre-Season levels of attendance from around Feb/March if numbers are going down, vaccines are being deployed, treatment continues to improve in efficacy and availability, and mass testing is properly in place.
Increasing by 5-10% a month and then back fully at the start of 21/22 season.

You have no idea how much l am hoping that you are right!
If the football clubs or sports writers have inside information on when this pandemic is truly over, they should share it with people (and governments).
If the ground were to open up in full say next Summer, I doub't more than 75% would want to go if a reliable decent vaccine hasn't been fully rolled out.
Likewise, although I think cloud cuckoo land is possibly his current location.

My guess:
IF the vaccine is as good as reported and IF there are no issues with the plan for administering it (!) then we may well see limited crowds in late spring when the R is comfortably below 1.
That would be followed by the Euros scaling back to be held in a central location like the Champions League was in August with perhaps a limited "locals only" crowd in.
Test events (aka friendlies) to then ramp up the numbers in late summer leading to, hopefully, a double whammy of crowds back in September 2021 just in time for a full Brighton Marathon to be held as well.
ANY set back and you can add months at least to all the above.

I think there would be a tentative return to live football from your average Joe. I would imagine if any attempt was successful in gaining full attendances by next summer it wouldnt surprise me if only 50% would want to return to live football. 15-18k would be our average attendance as football fans rebuilt their confidence in attending packed places. I really think the departure from football caused by this pandemic may be a permanent one in some punters opinion. The match day experience will have to be improved and packaged as a safe environment to be entertained in again. I also think added to this football may price its self out for many fans who will have different priorities in these circumstances. Hope i am completely wrong.
A good point. Covid may be in its way out next year (we all hope) but unemployment will be high for years to come. This will hurt the more working class clubs like Burnley more but will have an impact on all clubs trying to flog £550 season tickets on top of £45 per month Sky/BT Sports.

August 2022. For us perhaps it is not so much the stadium but the travel to and from it with packed trains and buses. In the East Stand Upper the average age seems quite high so I can imagine in the first instance a good number might choose not to go.
