Feels like hands forced for this 3 at the back formation.

Pervis is obviously injured, Solly can only manage 10 mins, mitoma/veltman played a few days ago and did a lot of running so probably have nighles.

With no alternative full backs (Ferdi, Hinslewood, Milner injured) then we've been forced into a back 3 + wingbacks.

Not sure how much blame on manager we can have here, as not sure what other option he has to go.
Very true.

Some changes probably needed due to injuries but looks very lightweight team overall.
I expect it’s a 343 formation with two wingbacks. We need all players putting in a shift.

When you look alone at the four changes we’ve made from the Brentford game, you really do have to question the logic - Veltman, Estupinan, O’Riley and Mitoma for Lamptey, Igor, Ayari and Adingra is an incredible, massive downgrade.

Almost like he’s decided this game is a free hit.
And I thought he wanted us to challenge the establishment...

Not surprised about Pervis absence bearing in mind the rumours of Forest making an offer, but I would be surprised if Adingra plays left back.

Why not Ferdi, or is he still injured?

cannot understand why he’s dropped veltman for one of the most defensively difficult games of the season. lamptey will get destroyed by rogers
If he’s playing 3 at the back, it makes sense.

Totally agree if he’s playing a 4 though.

Nuno would get a better tune out of Estupinian. Ferdi and Hinshelwood have been out so much longer than seems to have been anticipated. How very Albion.

Veltman and O Riley were returning from injury on Friday . This game has possibly come too quick for them. The other 2 could have knocks?

Is this the forst time Andingra has started in his natural position? On the left wing . . .were he played and won Afcon . . . . .

Amazing!

I'm desperately seeking balance for that team selection - all I can come up with is that we only played Friday and FH wants fresh legs and/or some of our starters aren't 100% match fit. Can only think Pervis has a niggle.

Wouldn't be the first time I've looked at the team and thought "ummm" but a lot of the time, these "left field" selections seem to work out.

Desperately want a result, only to quieten down the FH out brigade, especially as he's trying something different or is being forced into changes.

One thing to ponder, could our recent form be due to having too many players seeking too much game time "a la Chelsea" previously, whereas they had an overstock of well paid, high value players, whereas we have an overstock of potential that is impacting the squad? A lot of transfer rumors kicking around - could be a busy January with some outgoings, as we don't need more players!
We need at least a defender and a good all round MF , as for the " FH out brigade" no one is looking for the guy to fail it`s just so hard to see him doing anything else with this sort of line up - and sure as night follows day he will wait too long to change any mistakes - when does optimism become just wishful thinking ?
