Taking lamptey and cucurella off bizarre subs again. Newcastle ain’t won all season but other than that we must be longest winless run in England

Should have taken Gross off earlier - Mac Allister faster, younger, and much more of an attacking threat.

Gross has been a great servant for us - in our first couple of seasons he was positively vital! - but his day has gone. Almost seems like a manager's comfort blanket these days - yes, put him in the team, that'll be safe. Time for him to move on at the end of the season (or even in January if he gets a good offer - force GP's hand to play quicker, more attacking players).

Rumours circulating he wants out. How much truth in this is anyones guess.

For what reason does he apparently want out? Because he hasn't been starting of late, or was he rumoured to want out before that?

Our football is so good, but we just don't have anyone in the area who can finish it off.

Our best chance of scoring is corners, penalties or a stroke of luck.

This is going to be the story of our season... again.

Did you watch the game? I didn't. Everyone else says we were shit are you the voice of reason?

Couldn’t agree more.

Player like Lallana, Cucu, Bissouma, March, Groß, Webster, Moder just can’t shoot for shit. We fill our team with ballers but have totally lost the art of goal scoring. I can’t see how we can turn this round until some of our youth team punts come good. We could be in for a long wait.

We need to play a team who always seem to be kind to others on a bad run. Who could we play?

I don't think you can get 3pts from training matches

5 seasons in, we’re a funny old EPL club ….. finding every conceivable way to go on long winless runs.

Whether it be CH’s 9-0-1 formation, to the initial GP attack-attack-attack football being mugged on the counter, to the current very poor man’s Guardiola. Tika-Taka without a cutting edge.

So easy to set up against us. Simply defend, you know your chance will come.

Basement clubs Norwich and Newcastle should’ve tucked away winners against us FFS.

We’re not all that.

We all knew we weren't convincing in the games we won at the start of the season, but we took them nonetheless (of course), thinking well if we're winning while not playing great then the form will naturally come. That turned out well!

Just really disappointed that we appear so far to have gone backwards from last season. So slow, ponderous, creating so little - and still not scoring. At least last season we were exciting to watch.

Having said that, when we want to we can still turn it on and play blindingly, like Liverpool away second half. So bloody frustrating!

You just see it so often. Gross, March or whoever in a decent position on the wing and within seconds the ball is at our end of the pitch either by choice or a blistering counter attack.

We need more quality. We need to move the ball quicker. We need someone in the box to finish chances.

What is point of all that possession and very few players in box. Also Lamptey came in as a defender that can attack not the other way round. Ends up with little support Webster playing right back

I wonder how the club will defend our lack of striker now? No win in 7 is it? No striker selected in the starting XI for the last 3 games?
Pay me a 10th of their wages and I'll put in more of a shift and show more fight. Characterless performance in the second half.

Top ten is a pipe dream this season. Rapidly returning to the same old theme of last season. F all up front, take forever to build attacks, conceding sloppy goals. Nothing is going to change until the club finally sort out the obvious area of uninvestment.

wow 2 months in and you spotted it already ..... get in the queue ya div....:bigwave:

They have some decent attackers. We don’t (Trossard apart).

Watford have scored 9 goals in 4 games under CR.

You can't keep putting it all down to personal.

This season we have created very few chances and scored even less.

We are now on another one of Potters lengthy winless runs. How long will this one go on for?

I can't imagine what MacAllister is doing in training so that he's not picked to start sometimes *,?

Agree completely, he offered nothing today. You would hope at least he would serve up some decent corners for Dunk, Duffy & Webster to attack but they were easily defended, playing him and Lallana in the same team is a pace deficit we cannot afford.
