[Travel] Assault after the game tonight

So I was sadly assaulted after the game tonight by none other than three ' Rail Safety Officers' who took it upon themselves to remove me from a west bound train at 10:44pm as it was 'more than three hours after the game had finished'.

None of them had been at the game and none could tell me the time the game finished. I said the game finished around 19:50 - 20:00. While I was discussing the matter with them on the train ( I had entered through the barriers with others who had passed through un-accosted) they decided they would put hands on my and physically drag me off the drain and out the station.

Those on here who know me know I would not have been aggressive and was simply stating my case.

I have video footage of the conversation and their assault on me which I won't share for now due to intended legal action.

I'm upset and angry about this and will be in touch with the club and the police but for now could anyone confirm whether they faced similar mistreatment and or what time they believe the game finished tonight.

Paul Barber has responded to my email for clarification around free travel times and confirmed the following;

"Currently, for our home matches when the cost of travel is included in your ticket, your journey to the stadium can start 3.5hours before KO and after the match it must be started within 4 hours of the final whistle, regardless of KO time. Saturday’s match finished shortly before 7.30pm."

No mention of a hard and fast 3 hour limit, in fact the time the scheme is available after the game seems to vary depending on kick off time. Certainly makes the rail enforcement officers seem very heavy handed over 10 mins or so you may have been beyond some sort of time limit.

I'm aware of it, but I regularly take the piss if I'm getting a bus into town before the game. For example, for a 3pm, I might (shock, horror) slope onto a 700 at half ten or eleven, if me and the doris are going for a mince around the shops and a spot of lunch, before I head off to the game. Never had an issue.

And, ok, I'll fess up. I've even flashed a random 'matchday ticket' on my phone to a bus driver when we're playing away from home. Never had a dickie bird yet. If I do, I'll just plead ignorance and cough up accordingly.

I probably deserve to be assaulted, to be fair.

Not had an issue with them personally but I would 100% follow up on this because you can guarantee that if they did it to you, they've done it before and will do it again. It literally is a public service to rein in over zealous a-holes who think they are above the law.

I used the bus in Patcham to see my folks a while back en route to the stadium, so stretching the point if you like (I admit).
Most bus drivers were 100% fine. But on one occasion a driver refused me entry because it was too early.

I think it's a template for life. 99% of people are fine and the 1% can be a bit funny.

I'm not ashamed of it, but I suggested the bus driver who refused me entry was "not a football fan" to
them.

That’s not true. I’ve been forced to pay by some scumbag moron jobsworth bus driver at Brighton station because he’d decided it was too late for the subsidised travel to apply. And I’d not remotely loitered after the game etc. I was fuming about it.

I know Arse took about 5 mins per corner, but there only was a total of 10 mins stoppages, so the game must’ve finished sometime around 7-25 to 7-30. As such I wouldn’t pursue the claim that you were within the 3 hour limit too much.

I think this is good advice. Chances are that they were following an accepted protocol for removing someone from the platform that hadn’t purchased a ticket.

I've just seen this also. Annoying it doesn't specifically state about 5:30pm kick offs but either way it doesn't say it's a hard and fast 3 hour rule either.
