Absolute rubbish. I'm fed up with this attitude that if your touched in the penalty box then your are entitled to go down (await puns). Yes, if you are physically pulled back then that would be a penalty but looking at the replays, Young was merely touched by the other player with no force whatsoever. Pathetic.

Exactly my thoughts. Some people forget it's a contact sport and a certain amount of contact is legal and doesn't automatically mean a foul, or give the attacking player the right to go to down and exaggerate it.

The penalty kick rule is there to protect an attacking player from being scythed down in the box and this unfairly prevent a goal scoring opportunity. I don`t understand how that has evolved in some peoples mind to the view that if there is ANY contact it is a penalty. That clearly can`t be right or else every corner kick would result in a penalty! I think the key question is was Cashley (I like that) denied an opportuntiy to score, or did he fall over of his own volition. Pretty clear I think.

Any shirt pulling should be a penalty or a free kick no question.

It's become a view in some people's minds because commentators are repeating this false idea. "You can see he makes contact there, I've seen them given for that...", exactly the same as how some of them still say "that's a harsh decision, I don't think there was any intent there".

Until they employ people who actually read the laws of the game, it will continue.

Even worse is when you hear pundits use the phrase "He's entitled to go down there" Makes my blood boil that one.
