He and Nooney are the two Albion players who regularly visit my kids' school. They think he's great and will be well happy tomorrow.

Bollocks, the way we played last season anyone could visit a school and impress the kids. As soon as Will Hoskins is fit he will be visiting twice as many schools as Barnes ever managed. Remember, he has come from Bristol Rovers, where most of the kids have six fingers.

Barnes BOTTLED the eight times table, BOTTLED reading The Angry Caterpillar, BOTTLED the plasticine modelling. Get rid.............NOW.

He was absolutely superb tonight, was chuffed to bits for him after all the shit that's been said about him by some.

Superb tonight. As others have said, those slating him know nothing about football. Gets a 9 from me. Such a cool penalty too. That Wrexham goal must have done him the world of good.

He's comsistently good and occasionally brilliant, a great player to have IMO. Will an equal rotation of CMS/Vokes/Barnes as our 2 frontmen work? I'd like to see Toby get some games too :D

I'll put my hands up. I was one of Ash's harshest critics on here, and I still stand by a lot of what I said at the back end of 2011. But boy has he had a fantastic January. Looks like a different, entirely motivated and committed player. Very very very glad to be eating humble pie tonight (and this month).

I echo this given my previous comments.

I would agree that anyone slating him tonight wouldn't know a lot.

I think barnes has been great in the last few weeks.

But before we all kiss his arse, he was a hero early on in the season, and then the same people thought he was a twat when we started losing games.

Judge him over the season, not on rises and dips in form. Just think how different your opinion may have been if he was sent off at Wrexham weeks after being sent off against Burnley when he run over their players back, or if the ref had given a penatly (which it was) against Newcastle. He got away with both of them, which is why its funny watching the Barnes love in when he scores or we win, and the Barnes Hatred when we lose. I personally don't love or hate him.

I think its fair to say though, he clearly isn't good enough for us as a striker. He hasn't been a striker all season, but he seems to be finally finding a place in his current role.

But what anyone thinks of him..... the boy can sure take a f***ing cracking penatly

Looking sharp at the moment. Thought Agdestein was excellent when he came on too.... really helped to shake things up. Strong lad and determined.

He's playing in a different position now though, so he doesn't have to score to have a good game.

Great penalty, especially under the pressure.
