So just ignore the fact that their relatively new manager had got them playing well for the last 20 games of the season. Bit like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. But as you correctly say, as a Brighton fan I am reasonably easily pleased if performances are good. Just glad I’m not an Arsenal fan, I’d struggle to cope with that entitled shit

I think Liverpool finished outside the top six under Klopp as he rebuilt? There is no entitlement for being top six. Sometimes you do drop out. United have struggled quite a bit in recent years.

As an outsider I think Arsenal have steadied the ship, yes they do need some players but a rebuild? Nah

They still had poor performances in their run-in. Home v Lpool and against Villareal in Europe.

It is a step up for Ben of course, potentially. But personally I, and I think others, feel he could be doing better than Arsenal.

He’ll only do as well as the club that bids the most, no better. 50 million after one season at this level, as a defender, is properly big bucks. Apart from wan Bissaka, has any other defender gone for that sort of money after just one PL season.

Post covid, there may not be a bidding war although I hope there will be obviously

There has to be a chance he’ll still be an Albion player next season too

Have to say hope for at least £50m plus a player.

What were the pre covid bidding wars then?

Latest Twitter "News" from a hack is that Arsenal are offering him £120k a week.

Have to say it looks very likely to me Ben will be off this summer. Lots of credible journalists now releasing info. The only question will be if any other clubs will compete with Arsenal. Obviously that’d be good for us.

Duncan Castles reporting that Ben will be offered a £120k p/week deal. I’ve seen other sources suggesting his current Brighton deal is £51k.

I am no expert on other PL teams transfer dealings, are you telling me there weren’t bidding wars for players in the years pre covid? I find that very hard to believe

I was thinking the same. Guess he misunderstood your point.

No not really. Bidding wars only seem to exist in the minds of football fans. What with all these leaks, you would think that if they existed in reality they would be leaked as well.

Ah, OK, fair enough. A public bidding war is a rarity, of course, but it stands to reason that prices are driven up when multiple clubs are interested.

Not sure if mentioned above was interviewed on Radio 5 live today. I missed it but they were trailing it.

I heard it by chance. He spoke about the influences on his rise to being a Premier League and now International player. Mainly speaking about his mum and also mentioned starting his senior career on loan at Newport. Not one mention of Leeds, which will no doubt wind them up.
