Doubt very much Arsenal have £70m plus wages to spare...

Thats what I've thought for a lot of years but then they go cash up £45m for Thomas Partey or £70m for Nicolas Pepe.

Despite no Champions League they remain one of the clubs with the top 15 highest revenue, year after year. Lots of fans all over the world, big arena with expensive tickets, fat sponsorship deals... they always have money, despite Kroenke not investing anything.

Anyone who puts a link to Brighton and hove independent should be banned for 6 months - ffs

They are easily the worst click bait merchants of the ‘local press’. I don’t even bother clicking on their link. They have zero links to anyone at the club and copy over what’s been published elsewhere.

Lamptey is going nowhere this summer, but Bissouma will go, and he could go to Arsenal. Yes they are shite and quite obnoxious but the reality is that they are a very big club with a fat wallet and that has a tendency to matter a lot.

Not sure their wallet is that fat, and they may have throw in a player or two plus cash.

The other scenario is where their US owner desperate to appease the fans funds it.

Bissouma will go but not this summer.

On the other hand, we paid £15m for Biss and £4m for Lamptey. That is a huge profit.

We invested in getting Dan Ashworth, and spend comparatively low amounts in bringing in the best recruiting network outside of the big 6, we become sustainable, can grow as a club.

I'll just add to this, Alzate cost pennies, Moder cost under £10m, Veltman cost £950k.

Buy cheap, sell high, reap the rewards the players provide while we have them, until we are are a top 10 side.

What we DON'T want to do is spunk money away on Locadias, Jahanbakshs (both unproven in the PL when we bought them -and since - and it evens out to roughly the value of Bissouma), then they could buy 10+ prospects for us to develop and sell and utilise in the mean time.

Yeah but that’s with the benefit of hindsight. The club strategy you outline means there will be mistakes as well as successes. Bissouma, White, Lamptey, Veltman etc were all unproven in the PL before signing, just as Ali J and Locadia were.

And all bought for less than Jahanbaksh's fee combined.

I'd hope neither would go from a club where they are loved by fans who appreciate them for what they do and are invested in their future, to a club which has...well...fans like Arsenal fans.

Yes, but my point is you cannot expect the club not to make mistakes in the transfer market.

Yes, but if the mistake costs £5m compared to £20m it allows for three more mistakes, and if that is happening the recruitment is the issue.

This time next year Swanny, we'll be in Europe...

Not if Potter does off to Spurs, then WE'LL be in Europe but Swanny will be on The Fighting Co*k forum.

Don't think he'll go mind, they'll get a big name.

Nothing article about the betting odds on two of our players posted to get clicks and drive ad revenue, i.e. what passes as modern day journalism.

Only for complete muppets - that site appears when I check news now for transfer info which is a bit wrong - obviously ignored!

With Ryan, Bissouma and Lamptey all going to Arsenal I'm fully expecting the new Arsenal home strip to be Blue and White Stripes.

On a more serious note, why would either Bissouma or Lamptey consider moving to a club which will not be able to offer European Football.
