We've looked better in patches after conceding. Wayward passing still an issue. Hopefully we'll go out second half and show a good account of ourselves.

This. Been a decent game and we're still in it. Have to remember this is a free hit. Anything from it was always going to be a bonus. It's Arsenal away FFS.

Not sure which game some people on here are watching.

Yes, but to some, any pass over 5 or 10 yards is considered to be hoofball. Stupid really - getting the ball 40 yards upfield - even if it is with one pass - is a very good idea - it only becomes futile when there are none of your own players anywhere near enough to chase it.

Some people seem to think defenders don't get tired and don't need the ball to be cleared to take the pressure off them for 30 seconds or to reset and get back in their position if they've been caught out.

Opposition won't be scoring from 30-40 metres out.

Bong is so poor at this level. Simple passes straight out of play are ridiculous in the Championship but totally unacceptable in the Premier League. Strange decision to give him a pity start.
You forget Stephens pass that nearly cost us, Bruno not as effective as usually, and Duffy's loose pass. Remember others with their poor passing also!!!!

Personally think he’s playing better than Bruno...Suttners had a steady start to the season though

Agreed. Bong is going ok with one decent break. Pretty obvious that Hughton has selected a left sided pair with enough pace to make sure Bellerin can't take anything for granted, despite being one of the fastest players in England.

Giving the ball to a team like Arsenal anywhere on the pitch is a bad idea and professional footballers are not knackered after 30 mins.

We'll have to agree to differ but 11 men behind the ball and hoofed clearances is not the answer imo

Great support as ever. Some impressive little breaks. Outstanding saves from Ryan. We hit the post. And we're 1-0 down on 50 minutes at Arsenal. Anyone feeling depressed about this performance, so far, needs therapy.
