The people next to us in the bus queue were talking about the SW corner problems which they witnessed first hand. It started off with a small group of Villa idiots coming out with the homophobic nonsense. The stewards came in and stopped that but allowed them to stay. They then starting picking on a young disabled lad sitting just over the other side of the separation zone. It got so vicious, the poor lad's dad was about to take his son out and another Brighton fan starting giving it back to the Villa morons. This set off a chain of events that led to the Brighton fan striking a female steward and a bunch of Villa fans being ejected.

Of course, no one can condone a steward getting hit however from what these eye witnesses said, the situation was provoked by a small group of visiting idiots intent on causing as much offence as possible.

There were 3 or 4 morons who I don't think watched the game. Just spent the whole time eyeballing the SW corner. They appeared a special kind of stupid.

I saw a similar thing on one of Derby’s last visits, in the SE corner. Some pissed Derby thugs aged about 50, mocking then making moves to get across the no man’s land, to ..... a guy aged about 75. Because he took exception to their homophobic abuse.

Even their wives were embarrassed, remonstrating with them to leave it out.

Can you imagine if we ever got into Europe and played a German side at the Amex, judging by the reaction of one fella with a flare you lot would be pissing your knickers.

Should have been at the Crawley v Norwich cup game back in September - numerous flares were set off both during and after the game. As far as I am aware there weren’t any arrests.

Although it seems less pervasive than in times past, sadly it would be naive to think that a game would pass without some visitors spewing some kind of homophobic bile but I really am staggered about the ignorance of these complete and utter see you next Tuesday's who decide to pick on a disabled child or some old fella. It's disgusting and the fact that some people still think a football stadium is a place where that bile and hate has any kind of acceptability is a stain on football as a whole.

The fact that they picked on a pensioner and a disabled child tells us all we need to know about these people. I’m certain they’re not representative of Villa fans as a whole. Hopefully Villa will ban them.

As for our fan. Defending a disabled kid one minute and then striking a steward the next... Talk about extremes!

Wouldn’t happen with bottle tops in place...

“A man aged 23 and a boy aged 17 have also been identified in relation to separate incidents, one in which water from a bottle was thrown at other fans...”

That’s called ‘rain’ isn’t it?

You're right, I don't.
I imagine something like this...

You're way off.

I had no idea either, until after the palace game.
I figured these kids were strolling past the stewards with something akin to a Tiki Torch over their shoulder.

They are basically a small lipstick.
So the stewards know what they look like, but I'd suggest they are impossible to find until after the event.

Fair number in the other corner who seemed to spend a lot of the time eyeballing the east....with a lot of wrist waving :moo:

I’ve noticed that in the SE corner a lot this season. I sometimes sat there about 4 seasons back, and everyone was mild mannered. My theory is that a certain type of fan have migrated there, for confronting.

Probably a good call.

ppf style morons who don't watch the game, just spend the entire match "staring out" the oppo and making "you and me, outside!" gestures.

To families. While being laughed at by everyone else. And then getting escorted out by some stewards and a rozzer or two.

Cracking day out.

It's remarkable isn't it. In our last Championship season I was beside a man in his fifties with two other men in their early twenties who I assume were his sons. All three of them spent the entire match standing and staring accross the neutral zone at the opposition fans. They didn't say anything, didn't gesture, just stared and tried to look hard.

It wasn't even a particularly a potentially troublesome game - it might even have been Burton...
