Fifa won't be happy with those scenes, absolutely disgraceful.

who cares ? behaviour of footballers is disgraceful on the whole and the governing body does f*** all about it, Fifa are a f***ing joke of a governing body anyway.

I'm Exceptionally please the Argies are going home early, along with the Spaniards and tomorrow, hopefully, the Portugese, it'll make for a great semis

as long as Germany beat the Italians we'll have the best and cleanest teams in the last 4

GErmany, England, Italy, and BRazil or France

Oh, FFS, if anyone has any sense this is nothing to do with FIFA! Let it go! Bitching about what FIFA should do about every little thing is pathetic.

If players want to get larey and stupid over losing then let them. Football is a game for men, not fannies. The Argies lost fair and square - if they can't accept it then the whole world can see how retarded theyvare.

People whinging that 'something should be done' is pathetic.

I wasn't suggesting FIFA need to get involved! Just that, on average, there are about 20 instances per game of a player diving. Did you see Ballack rolling around in agony after being brushed on the shoulder? First he held his face, then his neck, then got up LIMPING! So many occasions the referees are refusing treatment on the pitch because the players are so obviously acting. Yet Graham Poll cocks up once and he's crucified for it!

The whole issue of cheating has ruined the world cup as a spectacle. I hate rugby with a passion but the behaviour of the players at the last rugby world cup was a million miles away from what we're seeing now.

As for the Ballack incident I think I`ve seen at least 3 players actually injured because of their diving. The Equador guy springs to mind.

I am still predicting an England versus Germany final, in fact I think the last four will all be European teams. Argentina paid the price for peaking too early, whilst the Germans and ourselves are still improving, at least that is how I see it.

Sounds when they put us out in France 98; jeering and taking the piss. They're as bad at winning as they are at losing.

Exactly. I do love to see an Argie cry. Why couldn't they have given us a shot of a blubbing Maradonna.

Where's your f***ing Malvinas scarf now you fat f***ing cheat?

It really was a no win game. Glad to see the back of Argentina but seeing Germany happy is no consolation. Ballack makes me want to really hurt him, I'm surprised Klinnsman can breath with his trousers pulled up around his neck and Lehman is a twat of the highest order.

I suppose it makes all the more sweeter that we will have to be the ones to give them a lesson in the final.

You didn't watch the 1990 final then? All sorts of shenanegens after the final whistle, culminating in Maradona stood in the middle of the pitch with tears rolling down his cheeks and blood pissing out his nose. Marvelous.

Ugly scenes mar Germany triumph

Germany and Argentina players clashed on the pitch after the hosts' quarter-final victory in Berlin.
Ex-striker Oliver Bierhoff, now part of the German backroom team, appeared to be at the centre of the melee.

Fifa officials and referee Lubos Michel were involved, while Argentina's unused substitute Leandro Cufre was sent off for unsporting behaviour.

Bierhoff said: "Fans have shown they can get on with each other. We should be able to do the same as sportsmen."

Punches and kicks appeared to be thrown in chaotic scenes which went on for approximately 90 seconds in front of a 72,000 crowd.

Bierhoff told German TV that he intervened after Cufre trod on German defender Per Mertesacker, leaving the player lying on the ground.

The trouble seemed to start when midfielder Tim Borowski gestured towards the Argentina players to "keep quiet" having scored his penalty to make it 4-2 in Germany's favour.

Several of the South American players walked towards him and when the final Argentina spot-kick was saved, the Argentina defender Fabricio Coloccini approached Germany's Oliver Neuville.

Punches were thrown in a brief melee before it was broken up.

"It's a shame that in a game like a quarter-final such pictures end up getting sent around the world," Bierhoff added.

Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann put the trouble down to the intensity of Germany's dramatic win.

"I'd like to remind people that in football there is so much tension, so many emotions and if it goes all the way to penalties someone can lose control," he said.

"Football is just so emotional. It's just normal. It's no big deal, no problem at all."

And he was backed by Argentine coach Jose Pekerman.

"At times emotions run away with themselves at a match and it's not what we feel. Germany and ourselves have great respect for each other and this was a thing of the moment," he said.

Last month I would agree with you, but have being been in Germany for the first two weeks of the tournament I now want them to get to the final. Amazingly friendly people, and they've put on one of the best World Cups there's ever been.

Germans
