It doesn’t concern me WHY people aren’t going.

It concerns me if the ground isn’t full for a game like this. Football fans go on about how the FA Cup has lost its magic, and that we shouldn’t take replays away etc, but then can’t be arsed to actually turn up and watch it.
Or maybe they are priced out of it

Makes no sense. Yes, it’s "lost its magic" precisely because there are games at 8pm on a Saturday night. If it was a 3pm KO and people were saying they weren’t going, you might have a point.

What are you on about.

Have you seen what its like trying to get out of the Amex for an evening kick off, let alone one that could go to extra time and penalties. People can be arsed but practicalities mean they cannot get home.

The magic of the FA Cup has been lost because TV companies move games to stupid times, which then affects hundreds of people that would have been able to attend if it was 3pm.

Should be a full house Maybe an opportunity for club to give tickets away to schools etc. Or go back to championship days when you could buy a ticket for a friend for £10

At £25 a ticket?

So how do we ever sell out Tuesday night fixtures then?

Yes I have, I used to go to every evening game when I lived in North West London.

What percentage of the ground 'won't be able to get home' if the game finishes at 10:45pm? Will there be thousands of people sleeping at Falmer station for the night?

Fact is, our fanbase IS flakey. The percentage of fans we have that will go to a home game whenever it is, whoever it is against, in whatever competition is quite low compared to a lot of clubs. That's not to criticise anybody individually, we all have our own lives. But it is the definition of a flakey fanbase. As is the fact we struggle to sell out when we play our rivals at home.

If you think its flakey, it must be.

I dont think there will be any reasoning with you.

Are you for real? :wozza:

Falmer station is only the beginning of the journey home for anybody going to a game with a potential finish time of 10:45pm

Has anybody ever come on to NSC and said they had to sleep on the streets or get a hotel because they genuinely weren't able to get home from the Amex?

I get it's a pain, but the overwhelming majority of people saying "I won't be able to get home" clearly can't be telling the truth.

Find it really hard to understand the lack of interest in this one. Our fan base is so flakey, it really is.

(Yes I realise "I live 100 miles away / I have young kids / I won't get home before midnight / I can't commit to every Saturday / I might get ill at short notice etc etc etc - that's exactly what flakey is in terms of a fanbase).
Can't afford it / deaths door.

The only two things I'll accept from sth.

They'll all be gutted to know.

It's precisely 15 minutes more of a pain than other games and European games. Which are also on weekdays.

Indeed. Funny how when it was Marseille at home the transport system was magically OK. Even though that was on a Tuesday night, rather than a Saturday.

Can I see the evidence please.
Villa fans had to sleep in Brighton station after the League Cup game a few years ago.

Doesn't mention the station lot but..

This one mentions fans sleeping at Brighton Station:
