No they don't respect the British viewpoint and history proved them right on two occasions before when Britain pulled back from joining them.
In 1978 Callaghan was talking with France and Germany about the exchange rate arrangement the EMS. Callaghan told Jimmy Carter about it warning the USA it could effect them and us. In the end Fran & Ger did the arrangements alone and it proved good for the French economy.
In the early 90's Major negotiated the opt out of the Maastrict Treaty because sterling was stable leaving us on the sidelines.
After both those events in 78 and 92 almost immediately we had economic and political turmoil while Europe was relatively stable.
Europe may just arrange everything without us again now

If we elect mp's to do a job at Westminster why are the allowed to then send others over to Brussels to then tell Westminster what to do ?
One tier of the system needs culling ..... Westminsters call!
Of course we have been marginalised but that's not important in the grand scheme of things because CMD's stance has made him look good to his backbenchers!!!

His approach on Friday has locked us out of all the major decisions. Internationally the E U is seen as one trading block with at least two thirds of its financial transactions running through London. New investments will start flowing elsewhere. I think Mr Cameron will be making a U turn soon after his city friends tell him that, whatever reservations they have about the proposed FST, he can't just leave the playground as he hasn't got the ball to take home with him....

Meetings where the the richest country's throw more money at the poorer country's in the hope that the southern europeans will change their personalities to northern european ones !!
It aint going to happen regardless of what those country's presidents want ( our money really ), it will inevitably cause civil unrest and chaos as the austerity measures become unsustainable.
Merkel and Sarkozy are trying to save their flawed European model at any costs and I am not ready to turn on ourselves in support of them.

Take a look at any Atlas.Britain is a pimple off the coast of Europe,far,far away from the USA which regards us as a quaint place to visit and a supplier of infantrymen.
Very many of the users of this board live closer to Europe than Birmingham and yet wish to be divorced from it.
Is this for sound economic reasons,a feeling that we're too good for them,basic xenophobia ? They drive on the wrong side of the road ?
Germany and France get exasperated by us,and we listen to the crazies on the right of the Tory party whilst Dopey Dave goes belly up to them whilst pretending he's stood up to our European rivals (?) and been damned good at it in a stiff upper lipped sort of way.
Not at all a petulant third rater who has taken what's left of his bat home.

Hahahaha. Tell me this isn't serious? She isn't very popular in Germany and isn't very popular with the rest of Europe. Her attempts to pander to voters (in an effort to save her own political skin, nothing else) have elongated and probably deepened this crisis.

What is xenophobic about not wishing to support a corrupt, undemocratic and a club where they cannot even get their audited accounts signed off.
I have personally lived and worked in three different european countries and love their different personalities and cultures, including Germany I may add.
So the little Englander jibe is tiresome.
At present there is nothing to suggest that those european leaders own judgement is sound, they remain damaged goods, more-so than Cameron.
1) A week ago we had a seat at the European table, with a vote and a veto. This week we do not.
2) Cameron was sent packing from the EU summit having gained zero safe guards or concessions.

The only thing Sarkosy would like about Britain was if it sunk below the waves. He has a dislike for this country and all that it stands for. Merkel on the other hand would like does I think get on with Cameron and is a bit more tolerant towards us.

I presume you mean a vote as long as you agree with this failing euro dream and a veto which you cannot use because then you say we become marginalised.
