Iv'e already said above! Boyd, Lansbury, Derbyshire (wages too high) and can't be arsed with the Glenn stuff.

I know one thing, if Gus wanted Murray then he would still be here....nuff said, who gives a shite about him anymore....I did hear that we offered him next to f*** all to stay, making it clear to him he was not in Gus's plans.

I can say I know something then not disclose it if I choose too can't I? I have written about EVERYTHING else I know and I am now choosing not to go into the Murray transfer AGAIN. That is how it is. You can P.M. me and I'll quite happily tell you. Just not interested in putting it up on the Big Board.

Oh sod it you've pretty much said it so.... Gus never offered Murray a penny, he was indeed not in Gus's plans. Murray wanted to stay with us. That is all. Makes all the more sense when you see Glenn moving house in Brighton. Nearest club is Palace/Southampton. All the more sweet that Palace have "OFFICIALLY" signed an Albion REJECT. Again, who gives a shit? I certainly don't, hence why that is my last post on Glenn bloody Murray's transfer.

Back on topic.

Have to say that I am disappointed that we haven't strengthened our defence. It has been obvious to one & all that we are currently weak at the back & with insufficient cover. I don't want to be the gloom merchant but I think we could struggle in the early part of the season.

Pre-Portugal, Gus said he'd sign about 3 more.

Before Sept 1st, I'd still hope we'd replace Brezovan (not just because of Spurs error. Never rated him, proven by past posts). Also some height, for example, a proven centre-back, and creative centre midfielder.

Brezovan ... supporters should've listened to the 5live & talksport teams on the away trip to Stoke. Both were scathing of his total game. Not heard them in unison say that before about one player.

Ankergren ... not perfect, but no problem with him at all. Deserves to be no1 or 2 keeper here.

Gus has never once even hinted that he wants a new goal keeper. Once again its pure NSC fiction.

That's true.
If he had a plan, keeping it secret, and why demoralise existing goalies.
But I hope if the right goalie comes along, he does business.

However I do have some sympathy with the point made on the commentary. If an outfield player makes a mistake, then it's noted - but everyone moves on. If a goalkeeper makes a mistake they're looking for a new job.

I didnt go to the Spurs game, but when I saw him 2 seasons ago, his judgment on coming out for crosses was shocking............

Can't remember judgment wise but one of his strong points is catching crosses - def dominates his box more than Ank - not suprising when you stand next to him!

No it's not. Despite his height, flaps at crosses. Stoke away: 5Live were shocked by our goalie's incompetence, after hearing so many good things about us.

Good shot stopper.
Poor in the air & distribution.

Rubbish. Generally, he's been excellent at dealing with crosses (as he showed v Spurs when he took a wicked one cleanly). People are judging him primarily on one match v a team who are among the best in the air in the PL. The top flight keepers were all embarrassed by Delap's throws at first but they've now had the chance to get used to them. On top of that, he hadn't played for ages and the early goal understandably affected the confidence of the entire defence.

His kicking on the ground is less assured than Casper's - that's true - which is tricky with the way we play, but that's going to be the same for a lot of keepers.

Personally I cant belive there is anyone that thinks Brez is good enough for the championship, even as cover.....As for Casper, its true that pre season he has made several cock ups, but how much of that is down to lack of communication with the defence. For 80% of last season he had Greer and El Abd in front of him and now he has Dunk. I am quite happy at this stage with Casper in goal, but as a week is a long time in politics, a month is a long time in football and the window is open for another month, all but a few days.
