What a crock of shit.

How are Palace streets ahead of us ? They may be playing in a higher league next season but the majority of Albion (and others) would recognise that the Albion had a better squad/team than Palace last season - the final league table indicates that. Palace managed to win a mini cup competition tagged onto the end of the season - a competition they very nearly didn't get into until 10 minutes from the end of the last game.

Anyone who saw the Playoff game at Selhurst would know that Albion were the better side that day and very little difference in the two teams at the Amex. Apart from their Premiership place (and the financial rewards that come with it) what would you want that Palace have? Mind you there are several Prem sides that I wouldn't want to swap places with.

Come this time next season I should imagine you will be back happy with supporting the Albion rather than the plastics from Selhurst.
They're streets ahead of us because they now have access to the Premier League riches. And even if they get relegated next season (which obviously is what we all want) they'll start the next three seasons with parachute payments giving them an immediate advantage over us. I think the fact that we've managed (for only the second time in about thirty years) to spend a couple of seasons in the same division as them has given a lot of Brighton fans a false sense of perspective.

And honestly, the most important thing next season is what WE do. I can't see what you don't get that and think it's a 'crock of shit' to be more concerned about our own performances to try and catch them up (again).

So as stated why start threads involving/naming palace or palace players/potential and expect no input from palace fans about it?

Now I see this as a real arrogant view, perhaps I am wrong.
A Palace fan advising Brighton fans what they should or should not post on a Brighton message board, when on the BBS once an away fan is known to be just that, they are not allowed to post anywhere else other than on the away forum. Even though they are talking about Brighton in all the other sections.

Reminds me of this.

We are not streets ahead of Brighton. A lot of the money we'll generate will have to go towards doing up the ground and improving facilities. If you went up, your infrastructure is already in place, so all your dough can be put towards strengthening the team. I haven't met one Palace that doesn't think we'll go straight back down this season, whilst you can easily by pass us on the way...however even if we finish bottom with 0 points, we will still dine out for the next ten years on what happened in the play offs...we currently have bragging rights, but that can change quickly and we are not streets ahead at all. I think it will benefit Brighton not having to play Palace this season, as that seems to hamper you a bit...you still got a good side and Ulloa could be the guy to get 20-25 goals.

Slightly patronising but correct none the less.

You are however streets ahead where it comes to the biggest money generator, the Academy.

The one thing Simon Jordan got right and invested in, This as we have understood for seasons is the best thing you can have at a club is a successful youth set up, sod the premier clubs that snatch the best from clubs, if you can produce and maintain a decent youth set up that your club can push players through from and sell on later for a good fee then there's the last piece to the formula for you.

which bit is patronising? LOL. Anyway, yes the academy is our crown jewels...look at the likes of Clyne, Moses, Williams, Zaha etc, our academy is streets ahead of most clubs. Simon Jordan gets slated, but it was his vision and look at it now. We've apparently got some more kids that are meant to be as good as Zaha and Moses and if you ask most Palace fans, the academy is the best bit about supporting our club.

But the ones we are sticking our ore in are threads about palace ? It would be like starting a thread about brighton on hol/bbs and not expecting any input from brighton fans ???

Your choice of username instantly gets my back up. You may be the most reasonable person around but with that username it marks you down as a wind-up merchant. Sorry but first impressions are you're yet another effing troll. Change your username and I might change my mind about you.

Another one with a username deliberately picked to goad us Brighton fans. Tell me...how does the rest of that chant go?

This is the bit that I do not get. Of course they are going to have a little dig here and there, and so they should. Albion and Palace ARE rivals, it is what fans of rival clubs do to each other, you know, that unspeakable word...........shhh, quietly now......bxxtxr.......or.......xantex........or BANTER!

Oops, sorry, I said it now!

My whole point when starting this thread was that we have had our tail between our legs for long enough. Time to move on and be proud once more, we still have our beautiful home, we still have TB, we now also have a new flairest of flair head coach! Let's stop being meek and quiet, we are some of the luckiest fans in the country right now, the bright new dawn is still on the horizon, in fact it is now in touching distance.....

I'm inclined to think that anyone who thinks "we scored 3 they scored 1, Brighton take it up the bum" is amusing is probably either 14 years old or an adult with a 14 year old's mentality. I'd rather not "banter" with a Croydon Beavis or Butthead.

We have the swagger of a decent Championship team because that is what we are. I think it makes us look foolish to be pronouncing that we are going to win this league and we are the biggest club in this division. I will save my swagger and arrogance for when this project is over, when we actually achieve something, when we win something and when our academy starts to produce Premier League quality players. Until then I will continue to see us as a decent Championship side with a decent chance of going up if our manager is as good as we are hoping he will be (I will also give him the time he needs to achieve his potential).

Aside form making us look foolish and arrogant (think Sheffield Wednesday), getting carried away at this point and ramping up the expectations will only cause some on here to turn on our 'flairest' manager at the first sign of a loss or a few.draws.

So why are you bidding £6-8million on a player who was playing non league football 2 years ago - can't you produce anything better ? Palace Academy - another myth :tosser:.

I sort of get your willingness to move on and take some energy into a new season but all this flair crap is just laughable. The new guy could turn out to be just like that Stale fella at Wolves last season. I'm quite happy though as you seem to have a track record for starting threads that make you look very silly a few months later - http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?p=10941016#post10941016

We're not and never were bidding 6-8 million on Dwight Gale. Major I'm shocked at you reading something you've seen in the used toilet paper known as the Sun and quoting it as fact. Then again I suspect you're happy to believe whatever Jane, 22, Worthing has to tell you.

1) Because we can.
2)Zaha, Clyne, Moses, Routledge, Watson, etc would tell you otherwise :tosser:
