Is that a good thing? It is hard to believe 80% are genuine asylum seekers. Our figure is higher than other European countries.
Why is it hard to believe? We take in far fewer than other European countries.

Absolutely no chance. It needs a radical re-think on so many issues. All we are getting is the same old tired stuff but done to the extreme. Taxing people more money has never been proven to be the way to grow an economy. Throwing more money at the NHS has never worked either. It all needs a big change. Labour doesn't have the ability to do that sadly and I doubt the Tories ever will either.

Gods country fortnightly
No, the U.K. is done for unless we rejoin the EU and that won’t happen because everyone is too scared to upset the gammons.

So nope, we have been a decaying country since 2016 and we will continue to sink lower until someone nuts up and puts us back in the EU. With no referendum.
The UK was persuaded to commit an act of self harm in 2016, it then doubled down on it in 2019.

The problem Labour have boxed themselves into a corner. If they're not bolder to face down the fashy right, it could well play into their hands

Your growth is also nearly 3 years out of date (Graph showing the percentage of refugees received in each EU/EEA country between 2013 and 2022, excluding countries with a population under five million), and of course doesn't take into account those not known about.

That graph is as a percentage of population, with only France and Germany having comparable numbers or higher in Germany’s case. Added to the fact that by virtue of being an island, the vast, vast majority of those we take in have travelled through several other countries in order to reach the UK.

Which they are allowed to do, according to the United Nations convention 1951, as signed by Sir Winston Churchill.

But it’s ok, the majority of these small boat folk won’t work for cash in hand jobs, down at the carwash, work the gig economy delivering food barely earning a minimum wage, no they will get work in supermarkets, working for organisations that will slice off a little bit of their salary to pay into UKPLC thus giving back a contribution to the thousands of £’s that the UK will gave and will give over the coming years, please tell me they will get proper jobs paying tax, please 🙏 Yes i know a small percentage will

I wasn’t questioning their legal right or their intentions, just pointing out that a smaller population country with less burden on their stretched public services such as our NHS and housing shortages like we have, can afford to take a lot more people as a percentage of population than we can.

Over 200 different nationalities work in the NHS including asylum seekers who have been cleared to work.
