Ah yes. That relegation fight we are clearly in.

10:37 and too much internet today. Christ Almighty
I'm glad it isn't just me who thinks a couple of dozen NSC posters have lost their tiny minds.
Perhaps it is a form of PTSD.
As there was no TS in my case yesterday, I am thankfully free of D.
(I did tut a bit though, I'll admit)

Are we down to mid table yet?
I may have to tut again.

More than a couple of dozen mate.

Obviously people react bad to a horrible result like yesterday but some of the comments are laughable

So you're hoping they'll be good in a relegation fight, then?
You’re obviously a glass half empty man.

6 points off the European places with a horrendous injury list and 5 new additions that are of course going to take time to bed into the club and the Premier League.

If you feel our squad (when fully fit) is likely to be in a relegation scrap next season then you are deluded.

I’d also question the role the manager is playing in getting the best out of the quality we’ve added and that’s a large contributing factor IMO.

A bad day at the office all round. Might have been a bit harsh. Time for a long walk

The failure to recruit quick defenders is something I have commented on scores of times!
Do you think it is deliberate, or do you think that maybe we tried to recruit and failed*?

If we look at the best defenders around, they are absolutely different class.

One assumes the club will continue to seek to improve the squad, and when we get everuthing right.....
We will be in the top four.
That's how it works.

*Where Liverpool, Citeh, Chelsea and Arsenal usually succeed, we quite often fail.
We could seek to sack the board, or accept that it isn't always perfect.

Anyway, I shall not be joining in with the suicide pact.
It's a lovely day. I'm off.

I'll concede I lost my mind a bit with my rantings but, focusing on the important things, my mind is at least small. Maybe medium sized on a good day if I've had decent sleep and a good breakfast.

The problem isn't the players... it's the way they are being used.

All of the signings look quality. Georginio & Minteh especially. Gruda is still a young lad learning his trade. O Riley has been unlucky with his injury.

6 points and growing. We're only where we are because of a cracking good start to the season (mostly thanks to our existing players).

There are plenty of examples of players who come in and do well quickly. Pick any club and I’ll name you players currently playing who came in from around the world and tore it up from the off. Including some players we were strongly linked with.
Yes many players need time. Yes we have plenty of examples of players who needed time to bed in, but that isn’t a given.
But without giving them time you can't always tell which ones will come good. That's my point.

Whether any of the new players are ‘any good’ is a tricky question but to me the important one is whether they are better than the ones we already had. Why are Buonanotte, Enciso and Ferguson out on loan while players who are certainly not significant upgrades get game time?

The one thing I have taken from this thread is that O'Riley is still an incredibly difficult name to spell.
Defiantly difficult to spell.

There’s some talent there, but almost none of it has shown through.

Georgino has grown on me. I think, given the right management, he’ll be a good Prem player.

Ferdi I’ve just not seen enough of to judge.

Weiffer has been dreadful every time I’ve seen seen him.

MOR has had moments, has scored and created a couple, but also looks really lightweight at the moment. Decent going forward, but another that wants to play number 10.

Minteh, with the right tactics will be devastating, but our current manager is getting about 50% out of him, I’d say.

Gruda has some phenomenal qualities, and could go on to be the best of the lot, but playing in front of Veltman, being better centrally, and us getting the ball to our wingers so slowly is killing him.

Hard to tell on the kids who are on loan or Gomez.
