How can you be luke warm to this epic Tom? ? Instant contender for tune of the year for me. (Savages - 'Husbands'will run it close though)

Beast, epic and grower are great words to describe this tune Brixtaan. I listen to it regularly when I'm out running and I am not anywhere near tired of it yet.

Not got the album yet but will buy it this weekend.

Can't believe there's a whole thread dedicated to this record. I heard it repeatedly in the background while i was working via 6Music and thought nothing more of it other than another pleasant middle-of-the-road rock tune. However the piano at the end made me take a closer look (Arcade Fire have passed me by previously) At home with decent headphones however,this song has morphed into a beast. 'Epic' and 'grower' are words used in this thread so i'm delighted others share my views. I think its got real staying power. I will want more Arcade Fire eventually (when i'm finished with Reflector) but i cant see where this band can go from here? The video is the perfect addition also, makes the song EVEN better. Brave and outstanding

They've been playing a bunch of secret shows around LA the last few days. Shut down the street near Hollywood Blvd last night for a few show at the Capitol Tower, and there's a band called 'The Reflektors' playing the Palladium tomorrow.. might go check out the show!

Funeral is one of the best albums since 2000. The other 2 have their moments as well. Just go for it, they are a great band. Fabulous live as well.

Gave Reflektor my first 'spin' this morning whilst on a 12 mile run. First impressions are I like it, James Murphy is all over it, I hear Bowie, New Order and it reminds me a bit of Low with the longer more atmospheric stuff on the 2nd disk. Some immediate songs; Joan of Arc jumped out at me and I played it a number of times over breakfast. I think this will grow and grow just like Suburbs did.

And for the person who said they were trying to sound like Blue Monday on Reflektor...there is one track which owes a very obvous debt to Bizarre Love Triangle. Also, is it really an issue that a band take a cue from a song which is now 30 years old?

It did not grab me as much as I was expecting, like say Daft Punk's RAM did, but I like it a lot and feel it will stay with me a long time and reach greater heights with repeated listens. I predictt a few weeks from now you will probably be sick of me rambling on about it's brilliance.

I am loving the new album. More upbeat than the last two, more immediate too. Joan of Arc, Here comes the Night Time, Normal People all jump out at you as anthems - all from disc 1. I MUST listen to the second disc a bit more now. Releasing it as a double cd, to those of us still relying on such ancient technology, slows you down...

Having never seen them in a small venue I don't know if you are right or n ot. They blew me away at Ally Pally though.

I have only seen them twice, once was a small venue and they were excellent...but I thought their o2 show on the Suburbs tour was fantastic. They have a lot going on and a sound which fills big spaces and strangly I preferred it - I guess it is the anthemic boombastic nature of their sound.

I missed the announcement that these were going on sale - bollox. At least it's not a weekend, so that softens the blow.

But when they announce their major tour, I want to know about it. Where did you hear about it? Have I had my head in the sand?

The current batch of gigs are low key promo-concerts performing as The Reflektors. They perform the whole album. To have stood any chance of getting a ticket you needed to have purchased the album direct from their website as they gave you a code.

To answer your question I am on quite a few ticket company distribution lists and they all send out an email on Wednesday with the details of the following Friday 9am ticket bun-fights they have. I find this is the quickest way to find out. I'll text you the minute I hear something though.

Amazingly the vinyl came in on the Aussie release date yesterday (a first this year for me) - just listening to it now as I ease into a very boozy Saturday ahead - sounds good on first spin, I particularly liked Porno and agree it's a likely grower. Album of the year for 2014 is going to be very hard if this does grow on me as I suspect it will with BRMC, Daft Punk, Elvis Costello & The Roots and Arctic Monkeys having all smashed it out of the ballpark as it were.....
