I reckon DAVE will be left-back. Leave Whing at right-back as he's been superb recently. Then choose between Heath and El Abd to partner Elphick.

My point on another thread yes Whing has done well recently but our last 4 goals conceded are from his position.

Orients winner against us from the right back position as was Southend's 2nd and the 1st and 3rd against Southend were due to him missing a tackle/clearance. Rather hard on him but it is fact.

No question about picking Heath he was out best defender by country mile on Tuesday and has been brought in to educate and bring out the best in Elphick as Butters did last season so he will not be dropped. The interest comes when our previously best central defender is back playing Virgo. I think that you could be right about Livermore playing left back but then I am not too happy with him there as I believe that he is too slow hence the sending off against Luton.

Incidentally I suggested on here signing Sean Thornton when he was having a bad spell and sent out on loan to Shrewsbury for him to join his brother here and didn't I get slated.

I would suggest that you learn your left from your right. Orient winner from the left edge of our box in the RIGHT BACK POSITION as I said irrespective of who the player was there I did say his position similarly against Southend Barnard cut in from the RIGHT BACK position to curl the ball in nearly identical to Orients. 1 st goal a cross from their right wing which Barnard and Whing went for as the ball came axcross the goal and Whing lost out 1 - 0. 3rd goal a foul on El Abd followed by a cross from again their right wing that the Southend player and Whing went for again Whing was 2nd best. As I said you need to learn the right wing that the crosses came from as opposed to the left Whing, sorry left wing

.................... Somebody definitely didn't get close enough to Barnard, that much I do know, but until I've seen a replay I wouldn't like to say who it was.

Wasn't that the case all evening - particularly noticable in the first half were he regularly pulled away from AEA giving himself metres of space to turn, pick his nose or whatever?

In the name of research I've just logged onto Seagulls World to watch last night's goals. Here are my conclusions:

First goal: Borrowdale caught too high up the pitch, lob over the top beats Bangura and their winger is in behind us.

Second goal: Play is originally on Southend's right/middle of the pitch. It is switched to Barnard on the left who is being marked by Birchall. Whing, as a result of where the earlier play was taking place, is in the middle of the box. Birchall is nowhere near close enough, like El Abd on Saturday, and Barnard finishes fantastically.

Third goal: Starts with Whing giving the ball away close to Southend's box. From there it's played forward where, after an initial good tackle, El Abd then does his usual backing off trick allowing the winger to run from the halfway line to the edge of our box, it's fed out wide and they score from the cross.

Overall, none of those were what you'd really class as Whing's fault. Maybe the last one could be debated because he did give the ball away, but when you give it away 80 yards from your own goal it's up to others to stop it.

1st goal correct. Where did the cross come from? Who failed to get in the clearance/ tackle?

2nd goal. Granted Birchall not close enough what AREA of the pitch did the shot come from.

3rd goal as per the 1st Where did Betsy cross the ball from and who missed the tackle/clerance near the post? Also Betsy bundled El Abd off of the ball that was blatantly a foul.

I am not saying that Whing had a bad game but as pointed out it is rather ironic that all of the goals were scored in the area that he should patrol.
