On both occassions the player cut in from just outside of the box in the right back position and the shot once he entered the box. In Barnards case he is a central striker so if he was out wide his marker had nobody to pick up so that should have released Whing to get back out into his correct position to tackle Barnard and leave the central defender a free man. Yes Birchall was at fault but on the 1st and 3rd goals Whing could and should have done better in attempting to clear the balls that came across the goal from our left side, their right wing in my opinion but it is pointless going on about it as it has happened. We must look to the future still 36 points to play for starting with 3 on Saturday, which I think that we will get judging by our performance for the majority of the 2nd half..

Anyway, back to the reserves. Did Murray & Elphick come through the game unscathed? If so, stick 'em in on Saturday (maybe Murray on bench).

According to the club website Murray and Elphick were unscathed, although Hinshelwood was limping by the end (not thought to be serious).

Murray only played for the first 45 and was replaced by Hart. Gargan played the entire match up front. Hakins got an assist for Elphick's goal.

"Murray, in his first run-out since mid-January - opened the scoring with a perfectly-timed lob over Saints keeper Tommy Forecast, who couldn't have predicted such a nonchalant finish."

Tommy Forecast! He sounds like he's from the old Harry Enfield sketch. Can we sign him?

The reserves line up shows how many fringe players are available to be called up onto the bench.
