I bet there bloody will.

There will be. All tragedy holds a paper reward for others. No point them making a film that doesn't earn what it cost. That's why they pay for a huge male star and some attractive femmes in tears. It's not for authenticity, but for the obtainable value of what they produce.

So the fact that the film was based on two real people who in real life are deeply spiritual bothers you? You don't understand that in a halucinatory state people tend to see people who mean something to them? What is it, you prefer the truth to be edited to keep irreligious bigots from sniggering?

Oliver Stone is one of the worst big-name directors. That's an established fact. Just look back at the borderline decency of El Salvador and then the flicked machismo of Platoon that fails to tell a story that couldn't end without two huge men exploded with each other in battle.
JFK! Utter shit. A series of arguments just tossed into the arena without force or validity. 3 and a half hours to be ignored.

When he tried to tell a noirish story and wasn't lost in his own belief in historical truth he'd written to teach others of their myopia, like U-Turn, then he's alright. Otherwise he's brash and mercenary.
Agree he's very selective with that thing called the truth. But have you seen one of his earlier films, Salvador? Very powerful.. well worth a view. I doubt I'll go and see his new film.
