I really wouldn't bother mate. This dicussion was had with nsc's resident nazi appologist several years ago and he has no remorse about using the name of a ss division. In fact he spent large amouonts of time defending the poor mis-understood ss soldiers iirc.

Just accept dr is a bit of a dick in his views and treat him accordingly.

:bigwave:

OK, you're right. He's not the only one who chooses to disbelieve the facts... whch must say something about the dark side of humanity. Or maybe its just a little boy who likes to see the reaction of other people when he's naughty!
My dad was one of those who liberated Belsen, and he would have slaughtered the whole Allegemiene SS after what he saw there. The Waffen SS were different, inasmuch as at least they didnt cower away from the fighting, but he always felt the mindless fanaticism when coming into contact with them. There were some exeptions, sure, but the majority were prepared to follow the insane orders of an insane leadership, at the expense of their morality.
This lad seems to revel in the cudos he mistakenly thinks his username gives him. He's trying to stand out by being outrageous, but there may also be a little part of him that truly admires the outward trappings of Fascism... uniforms, dead good guns an'stuff... and this enables him to actually internalise the pseudo-scientific gobbledegook on which the Nazi party was based.
Himmler, the poncy-titled Reichfuhrer SS, is probably like loads of slighty wacky, middle-aged loaners, pottering around in their gardens and coming up with all sorts of racist mumbo-jumbo. The trouble is, he was allowed access to power, and his lunacy appealed to the likes of DR because it raised little, insignificant losers to positions of power over others.
Thank God most of us learn from history.
Rant over... I'll just leave him to fester.

If you support the Nazis why would you deny the fact they slaughtered six million Jews? Surely you would be proud that they did it, not sweep it under the carpet and pretend it didn't happen.

just a note Diar, when the British forces liberated Belsen i don't think they took the Germans control over the camp away for some days . WAS THIS DUE TO INFECTION WITHIN THE CAMP?

Yes... and total confusion about just how to handle a situation as incomprehensible as the one that faced them. Many prisoners died after being given food by the British troops... they had been starved for so long their constitutions just couldnt stand it. They had to bring in famine relief mixture to save the rest.
The German guards were still arrogant and showed no remorse, such was the depth of the brainwashing they'd undergone in the Third Reich. They were allowed to stay where they were until arrangements were made to sort the whole filthy mess out.
Eventually, the scum had to help dispose of the corpses... but even then they showed no emotion because they still believed that what they had done was right!
It wasnt until then that my father truly knew the nature of the depravity that he was fighting against. Despite attempts to re-educate, many of them still refused to accept the facts before them... and they were actually there! Imagine how the lies on which Nazism was built could still be believed by others who did not see the ultimate result of racist insanity... including (apparently) youself.
Put aside all the glamour of power, take away all the military triumphs built upon lies and aggression, strip away the falsehoods and insane science, and all you're left with is... depravity and filth.
Denial supporters these days are generally young people who want to be shocking, and who see something weak in our proud system of social inclusion and acceptance. I think that, were they to truly consider what it was like tohave lived under the Third Reich, they would treasure the freedoms they now have... particularly the freedom you have to come on here and spout off your views, even if they are against the social and moral standards of the state. Life in Das Reich, my friend, would not have been as glorious as you seem to imagine. An organisation based upon the standards and demands of Nazism was bound to failure, because evil of that level is always defeated by the decency you regard as weakness.
Thank goodness there were, and still are, brave people who stand up to such ideas and make sure that they never flourish again. To me, Sophie Scholl, the German student who was beheaded by the Nazi state for daring to speak out against it, was by far braver that anyone in the Das Reich Division.
So, stop your wind ups on this particular issue... its far to important for you to be flippant about. Choose something else to get your kicks out of being shocking.

Seriously, stop trying to reason with the f***ing moronic facist apologist. You will not change his view, just like david irving being proven to have lied and to have been wrong time and time and time and TIME again hasn't changed irving's stance. You can't reason with the willfully ignorant.

I know you're right, RS, but I feel that I have to challenge such words everytime I hear them... possibly because of what my dad went through, and possibly because of the effect they have had on real people who have experienced the real hurt that such a blase attitude to human degredation can cause.
I'm all for freedom of speech (unlike the Nazi's) but, with such freedom goes responsibility, and its important that others who may be infuenced by this lad's words are repeatedly told the truth. I don't seriously think he's a Neo-Nazi because he is so flippant about his responses to people who genuinely take offence. Real Nazi's would take the whole thing much more seriously because they will have totally immersed themselves in the lies... they are'nt flippant, they're deadly serious, and people like DR would be cannon fodder for them.
Any rational human being who has learned anything about the activities of the Das Reich Division, would want to dissassotiate themselves with such a band of murderers. That's why I'm convinced that DR is a wind up merchant. It's just that he has to have the guts to recognise that this subject is outside the acceptable scope of humour within a decent society.
If he did that then, I for one would applaud his bravery and intelligence, after all, we all make mistakes.

No problem in taking an interest in certain aspects of history... and, no, you dont have to explain yourself. But it would help myself and others to understand your viewpoint if you did. If I've got you wrong, fair enough.
History is full of imponderables and uncertainties... but the wicked behaviour of Das Reich is not one of them. So, please tell me why you chose their name as your username... help me to understand your views. Dont simply answer with glib comments... how do you expect other people to react if you dont explain properly?
Go on, for my sake if not yours, explain to me your standpoint. I enjoy discussions with people who disagree with me, but they have to get involved in more depth than you have so far.

Bollocks. You have consistently lied and disembled on here about how those poor ss soldiers were simply misunderstood and weren't murdering raping pieces of facist shit. And you rank with them quite frankly. You consistently refuse to explain yourself, witness your comment to magoo.

Seriously diar, ignore this thing. It has the brains of a sterile piece of shit.

So there's a troll masquerading as a Nazi sympathiser with 6500 posts on NSC!!?

Jeezz we truly are a liberal forum. Mods?

The best way to show up an idiot for what they truly are is to give them a voice. DR's 6500 posts average out as 7 words and a smilie each, which doesn't allow him to expand much on his views, and that is why you won't get a coherent response, just a half baked riddle and a emoticon. He knows where the line is and knows the consequences of stepping over it.
