I’m a bit confused reading some of the comments on here as I had an easy 2 today. It was a very simple, very English word that everyone knows and would use in everyday language. I thought there was only 1 word per day. Is that not the case does anyone know?

Certainly not in British English, at any rate.
I cannot imagine there is a single poster on this board that hasn’t used my word many, many times! I’ll post it tomorrow once everyone has arrived on the 28th. Off to do #557 now!

Took me 5 today.
Will be interested to see what you post. Condo was the word I had, which I have never used in a conversation ever!
The word I had was SMOKE

I thought it was the same word every day wherever you are in the world. It certainly used to be so I’m not too sure what’s going on!

That was a much better word today; a far more satisfactory 4 than yesterday’s effort.

Yesterday's answer is an abbreviation. It is a North American term (I remember it from when I lived in Canada). It is as commonplace there as petrol (an abbreviation of petroleum) is commonplace here. I presume that abbreviations are acceptable if they are commonplace. In North America <sigh>
