Forest and Gillingham seem to have got their acts together. I can see Forest actually overhauling us to be honest - let's not forget they probably still have cash for more reinforcements after their 8m windfall.

Gillingham probably won't catch us, but they might. Luckily, Crewe are toilet so they might end up being relegated and Cardiff could be in trouble if they still need to offload players - but I still think they ought to be far too good to get sucked into this.

What worries me is our remaining fixtures. We have some good sides still to play. And also, if Crewe and Gillingham do go down. who are we looking to finish below us next season? There won't be many small clubs left in the division...

Well I think that it's certainly no time to be complacent. Naurally if we get Falmer we should be able to attract better players in the close season (I hope).

i'm still certain we'll stay up , sure we've got some HUGE games to play but remember we up the tempo against big sides.

as for next season , well, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it , McGhee probably got a few ideas .

crewe done the double over us this year with an agg score of 5-0 .....thats a worry:( :(
we seem to have hit a bit of form though so hopefully the freefallers cov, plymou th andpossibly lester could help us out, my gut feeling is we'll stay up but i think it might be tight, wasn,t someone moaning about mid table boredom a few weeks back???

I'm more than a little worried. Forest are starting to score a lot of goals with Chris Commons in excellent form, I can see them hauling themselves clear of the relegation spots before long. Gillingham are having a good run but I think will stay down there.
Crewe are nose diving and leaking goals like there is no tomorrow and I think will fall furthur into trouble. Hopefully Cardiff will have to sell a couple more players and keep falling.

What is good to see is the likes of Coventry and Plymouth being dragged into the fight. A win this Saturday would be massive and I would be very confident of staying up then but if we lose it's a whole different matter.

Slightly worried but that adds an edge to the games anyway.

I think we'll be fine and that Crewe and Coventry will struggle.
I'm not so sure that Forest will make it as we had a good run in two years ago but still didnt make it.

I feel another two wins and a few draws here and there will see us through to safety, no worries. It's an old cliche but Saturdays game is massive. I feel really confident that we can win our next two home games against Wigan and Reading. Despite their positions, they're prone to the odd wobble.

Plymouth is a MUST NOT lose game. We could be looking a very small gap if the teams below us all get points and we dont get any.

That was me, and it was an ironic post. Obviously it was wasted on some people.:)

Before the panic sets in, we've taken 6 points from :
Sunderland (H)
Millwall (H)
Stoke (A).

OK, Forest have strung a few games together, and so have Gillingham, but Gillingham, haven't gained any points on us in the last 8 games (we've both taken 11).

We need at most 8 points (being cautious) from 10 games. We're not playing shit, and IMO, we will accumulate the points required. If we were being ripped apart every week, then start to panic, but at the moment, all looks OK to me. Stoke was just a bad day at the office, same as Cardiff.

Next season, Plymouth if they stay up and Luton. Not sure who else.

Despite the stirrings from Forest and Gillingham, there are PLENTY of other teams around us who are very capable of nabbing that 22nd spot, even if (and thats still a big "if") both Forest AND Gills manage to save themselves this season.

Having been down there all season, I think its unlikely that they'll both manager to pull themselves clear, but even if they do, I think there are a number of more likely candidates to take their place. Obviously we can't afford to be complacent, and I honestly cannot see McGhee allowing complacency to creep in. All we've got to do is keep doing what we've been doing, and we'll be fine.

The fact is, if we beat Plymouth, we are virtually safe.

Also, remember, our destiny is in our own hands, all the while that remains the case, we have a fighting chance.

I think that we will survive, but it will be closer than some might suspect.

I am a tad worried but on the up side we have played NFFC and GFC and got the points, I think GFC are at Leeds this saturday so hopefully nil points there and forest have somebody good, is it wigan so hopefully their run will end.

I am confident e will get something at Plymouth:smokin:

The main aspect I'm worried about is more needless cards and suspensions. Just makes it that much more difficult than it already is.

Exactly. That's why I'm praying Brentford get promoted and West Ham sack Pardew and replace him with Allen in time for the new season.

The fact that we have to play alot of the teams in the top half has its benefits. They will be expecting to get 3 points and will need them to keep their play off/promotion hopes alive. Also this means we will have fewer 6 pointers than those around us which means that each time they play each other one of the most the can both gain on us is a point. I think teams like Watford, Crewe and Leicester need to be careful. We have been in survival mode all season where as these teams have not. If you take Watfords good start to the season into account i can see them getting pulled into the struggle. My money is on Gillingham and Cardiff or Crewe....although i want it to be Coventry.

Seem to recall I got a load of stick on here earlier in the season for suggesting that Crewe were the joke team of this division (thereby bestowing the kiss of death on the Albion beating them at Withdean  )

And 'lo and behold, they haven't changed a bit. Fourth highest scoring side in the Championship with 55 (only Wigan, Sunderland and Derby have scored more) and they've let in more goals (67) than anybody else in the division by a country mile.

Bunch of :jester:
