There's a chant on youtube saying these words to the cops:

"What a waste of council tax, we paid for your hats!
We paid for your hats
We paid for your hats
WHAT A WASTE OF COUNCIL TAX, WE PAID FOR YOUR HATS"

:p:ascarf:

Worthing
Don't need to justify myself I've been married over 30 years so no need to prove myself to anyone, I know what happened, if you don't know me then don'y pre-judge me, believe me I was not the agressor

As he says, we don't know him.

It turns out that I happened to be on the same coach as him and his wife.

They were all nice, friendly, normal middle aged Albion supporters, and sober.

My opinion is the Met picked on ( yet again ) an easy target, seeing as about 80% of the crowd were singing the same thing.

They wouldn't have done it to a group of pissed up lads now, would they?

I started a chant of "Scott McGleish is a wanker" in the Coach and Horses in full view of two of Sussex Police's finest. They didn't bat an eyelid

Yeah, I was in there at the time too, well, perched outside due to the searing heat in there. The cops didn't care a jot. Thousands of people were singing that McGleish is a wanker, how can they single out one person? There has to be more to this story I'm sure, I hope there is anyway, because to be arrested/ejected for that is just plain wrong. ??? Well, to single out on person is wrong when everyone was singing it!

Came up & said we've got you on camera, fact that I told him his uniform didn't worry me probably didn't help but I was very polite to him, more than he deserved
He got really upset and told me to f*** off but no point in reporting it they are lying bastards and will only deny it even though I have witnesses

I had some clown copper film me at Luton because when the pens started I moved across the stand to be closer to where my father was. Out of interest what would they do if I wore a balaclava. Do they have the power to ask me to remove it?

I was sitting right at the front with the polie to one side of me. I was singing the wanker song too, but they didn't bad an eyelid. However, I was able to hear the conversations between the stewards & police. The police had the final say on who was ejected, but it sounded as if the stewards were happy with our behaviour. Te lady chief steward even asked the coppers not to stand in front of me as I was disabled & couldn't see as they were in my way.

The stewards were also quite concerned that a child was in the ground on his own.

Truly that's all I was singing, not gesturing nothing, I suppose this young copper thought I was an easy target, how wrong could he be, but then all I wanted to do was watch the game, we spent over £100 just for some prick to go on an ego trip, I say he was a wanker but I really wish his father had been

Then I feel for you mate, really I do. A steward suggested I should deflate my Seagull, but I pointed out the whole point of having it, was for the match and she looked a bit confused and allowed it. The power trip some people with relative get is incredible at times, it can cause them to go out of their way to exert powers they don't need to use. I hope you're not in any long term trouble mate, really I do. We all sang the song, and I personally spent some time making the wanker gesture at the Orient fans behind the left hand goal, but I was toward the back, nicely out of the stewards and police's way.

It's a shame that a small percentage of people can make the majority look like wankers, I like coppers I really do, much as I like stewards. It's a shame when they're let down by a small rogue element.

i suspect you had no respect for the police before your arrest (or ejection), are you sure you didn't get all lairy in front of the wife and Albion fans? Can't believe they focused their cameras on just one person out of the 1500 singing.

I can believe they focused on one person - they always do.

At Sunderland a few years back the home fans were singing the faggot songs. About 6 or 7 of us just pointed our arses at them (fully clothed) and slapped them - I was the only one to get threatened with arrest.

Unfortunately you have to expect it when you go away. I used to see it at The Goldstone when I was stewarding, the coppers were totally unfair to the away fans but we didn't care coz they were away fans.

The copper who asked you to deflate your seagull only had to wait till 4.53pm to witness around 2500 deflated seagulls

To be fair, I think the female steward who spoke to me just wanted a reason to, it was clear from her general demeanour she was just a bit shy. Happily, I got my fully inflatable Seagull all the way home again, and am debating whether to take him along on tuesday night. Of course, I'm not sure that would be wise because it would give away my true identity... And it really is quite sad to have an inflatable Seagull on your lap.
