extreme left? Ah, you mean the looney left!
Agree would have enjoyed a debate but have not posted because of the hatred it would have spewed forth, that's why the argument has been so one sided.
I believe the key point is that there are many on this board who really believe that they are in the comfort of a majority when presenting an opinion or making a stand on an issue. In reality as most NSC polls have shown in recent years, there is a fairly even split between left and right if we are talking politics ( probably a touch to the right if truth be told). I would just love a debate on the facts, but being human, the emotions will run hot, and this does add a bit of amusing colour to the whole scene, we do come on this board for our entertainment afterall.Agree would have enjoyed a debate but have not posted because of the hatred it would have spewed forth, that's why the argument has been so one sided. This applies to all posts give a difference of opinion and there's a good chance you will be called a W****R or some other derogatory term that does nothing to move the argument forward. If i talk to people about NSC people often say they don't post any more because of this, put forward your points less aggresively and more people would listen, some moderation would be a good thing.
The left are level headed and sensible, without too much leeway. The right have many levels of selfishness.
There's no i in left.
I'll leave you with that . . . .

Probably correct. Their posts just get swamped by the normal clique who try to shout down every debate that they do not agree withJust like the loud-mouths in the real world who moaned about the things Mrs T did when she was in power (and were even adopted by "new" Labour and often made more extreme), such as the "Pole Tax", which most people actually believed to be fair, but the great unwashed from the left took exception to because it stopped some of their free-loading, and expected them to actually pay their fair share for local services, rather than simply sponge off everyone else.
Not sure the left/right terminology really resonates so much these days. I would probably describe myself as centre left but then so did the Labour government, and I thought a lot of what they did was appalling.
Too often these labels are used to save people the bother of really thinking through the issues. Politics isn't like supporting a football club: I've supported Brighton in four different divisions, at four different home grounds, when we were good, when we were bad. I don't have that kind of relationship with the Labour party.
We need more free thinkers, less knee-jerk responses to situations based on tribal loyalties, less casual mud-slinging from all sides. Tories (unlike what I see from the BNP or SWP) often speak sense, and it's puerile and unproductive to pretend otherwise. Ultimately I'd rather judge someone on how they behave, not what they believe (or claim to believe).

EXTREME LEFT.....Political and Social envy of anybody who has more than them.....doe'snt matter how hard they worked to get up the social ladder if they've got more, their bitterness and bile knows no bounds.

What a load of crap! Look at China, look at North Korea, even look at Russia. Run by selfish *******s who do not stand for legitimate elections and cannot be voted out of power. No "I" in "Left" - do me a favour!

In consecutive posts. you couldn't make it up.
The poll tax was one of the most unpopular pieces of legislation that any government has attempted to introduce in the last 50 years. To suggest that most people believed it to be fair is revisionism in the extreme. Some may call it lying.
And it was not a tax on Poles.
The Poll Tax was only unpopular with the free-loaders who were expected to contribule to society instead of holding their hand out all of the time! It was deemed "unpopular" because of the normal mouthy gob-shites from the left and their protests.
As always, the normal people were not heard as they do not resort to civil unrest.
You are a very very strange person.

Coming from you that is praise indeed.
