U23s then Worthing v Walton at 3 in the FA Trophy.
Jeez, yeah. On Saturday I'd take an England Rugby win over a Brighton win 100%.
I appreciate this will be a minority view.

Not for me, Tower of London on Friday, Amex Saturday
Are you being sent to the Tower at last?
The argument for this is that if England lose they are out and their world cup is over, but if BHA lose there is always next week against Norwich plus many more games to get over it.
Are you a New Zealand fan?Likewise, I am looking forward to the rugby as much as the football
FA cup matches aren't more important though, because winning just means you can go out in the next round instead, so it was all for nothing. An FA cup semi-final however, would be decent to win, just as it would be good (however unlikely) to win the rugby, as that would put us in a final.Quite. It's also why FA Cup matches are more important than league games - lose and you're out.

For most of us, there's no real dream anyway. It's also not a priority, we'd rather do well in the league. With our national sports, however, the world cup is the highest priority. Of course I realise the FA cup might be important for some of you.Well yes of course you can go out in the next round - but you might win that as well. Also you do actually have to win the games to get to the semi-final, so lose just one Cup game and the dream dies.

But we don't know what the end will be. Will we be out of money, and struggling in League One or Two (or worse), or will we have become a team that's established in the top two divisions, with more fans thanks to the football that's been on offer?I could counter by saying we're going to get relegated eventually anyway so what's the point in winning league games when it's only delaying the inevitable? I won't because of course that's not the point; like life we want it to go on for as long as possible even though we know what the eventual end will be.
I think a lot of fans would exchange our PL status for cup success, but cup success would mean actually winning something. Obviously we don't get to choose the final outcomes, but we can get more or less excited by the league and cup results. I'd say that most of us are pretty happy with what we've achieved in the league in the last 8 years or so. We've moved up to the top table, invested everywhere, on and off the pitch, and our income because of our league position suggests that it's all sustainable. So each league win is a step towards maintaining that. An FA cup win probably won't lead to FA cup success, so winning the odd game just isn't a big deal. Some of us would happily exchange a few years of life for Cup success, but as I said before, I know we're a minority.

The reason I disagree is that the league wins we've had over the last 8 years have put us in the PL (best squad and play style etc that many of us have ever seen), so those league wins have counted for something, whereas all of the FA cup wins we've had in the last 118 years have counted for zero cup success.Eh? A single FA Cup win goes FAR more towards winning a trophy than a single league win goes towards achieving our position in some sunlit PL upland at some unspecified and undetermined later date.
