I've just started watching Chicken People

I'm 10 minutes in and it's phenomenal.

Clucking brilliant.

Act II gets a bit 'real life' , but either side it's a glorious look at competing in The Ohio National Poultry Show.

Come on - who doesn't want to watch that?

Brilliant, thanks for that...

So pleased Brian showed his cock off and won first prize
I'm pleased you enjoyed it, I assume you're also a fan of Best In Show, the fictional version.

I've spent the morning 'selling' Chicken People at work, to say it's not going well would be an understatement 😆

I've rather enjoyed Primo on Freevee.
Fairly standard coming of age/dysfunctional family fare, but I think there's enough there to rise it above crop.

The creator, Shea Serrano, used to collaborate with an American podcast I listen too, but I don't think that's influenced me.

My film pod of choice, The Rewatchables, did the original Roadhouse a couple of weeks ago. Tremendous fun, as you'd expect.

I'm now watching the remake, obviously it's not the original but they seem to have stayed true to the overarching silliness.

40 mins in and it's standard Saturday night, beer and takeaway fayre.

Edit - about 10 mins later it took a turn.
If you don't turn with it, get out immediately and save yourself!!!!

I must say 24 hours after watching Roadhouse a line is said pre rib-boat fight that's still making me laugh, and has made me laugh all day.
I'm just gutted it's one that'll be almost impossible to use.

The film is still shite, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and yet have spent the day recommending it!!!!

It's an odd decision esp on the back of The Beekeeper which I believe is equally stoooopid but made a gazillion dollars in cinemas in January.

That said Doug Liman is one crazy chicken.
I can't remember all the behind the camera gossip, but my guys lay it all out somewhere in here.
Liman cost the studio $26m by betting against Ocean's 12 not starting on time.
It did and Smith's had to shut down for 6 months.
It was the 2nd time he did that!!

In terms of Swaysze remakes it's vastly superior to the Point Break remake a few years ago.

I enjoyed it. But then I thought "Brawl In Cell Block 99" was good.

Today I watched:- Pinball The Man Who Saved The Game.

A simple film with an agreeable quirky gimmick.
I can't 'sell' it as I think it's one of those films which, if you're charmed by it, it'll be because of its under the radarness.

I'd categorise it as a very good wet Sunday afternooner.

Lake Mungo is now on Prime. It has been available on shudder for a while. It's a faux documentary ghost story. Follows a family looking back on the aftermath of their daughter's death, and her apparent appearance in some later photos. A few twists and turns along the way without being over the top. One of my favourite discoveries of recent years.

Robin Wright, Olivia Cooke, Laurie Davidson and Waleed Zuaiter will star in an adaptation of Michele Francis’s novel, The Girlfriend, for Amazon Prime Video.

Laura (Wright) wants for nothing. She has a glittering career, a loving husband, Howard (Zuaiter), and, above all, she has Daniel (Davidson), her precious only son. But Laura’s seemingly perfect life is blown apart when Daniel brings home Cherry (Cooke), the girlfriend who changes everything. After an uncomfortable first meeting, Laura grows convinced that Cherry isn’t who she says she is. While no one else can see what she sees, Laura refuses to stand by and watch Daniel be deceived. She’ll do anything to protect him. As things go from bad to deadly, the question is, is Cherry a manipulative social climber? Or is Laura paranoid and possessive? The truth is a matter of perspective.

I watched "The Zone of Interest" on Prime last night. I watched it without any prior knowledge, just that it's about Rudolph Hoss, commandant of Auschwitz and his family living next to the camp. I think it's incredible. Highly recommend anyone to watch it and then read how it was made.
